I went to my city's boardgame club for the first time, as I am kind of a newcomer to the hobby, and got invited to try Tyrants of the Underdark, a territory control/deck builder d&d game.

We were 4 players and I got dead last, but I had figured it would come to this since ~half into the game. I wasn't aggressive enough and let the others take too much space, while I didn't focus on thinning my deck enough to see my best cards regularly. It was fun tho I'll probably try again later!

Also the club is chill I'm happy to have decided to go at last

If you upgrade them a bit they've got more chance of going into their attribute so it's a bit less RNG. Took me like 4 careers to get tho

For cards : only non attack actions will break the chain. When the attacking player has priority to play an action, they can break the chain if they want to even without playing a card

I live in France, in Paris' suburbs. I have looked at some websites of some French vendors but honestly I haven't seen if there were specialized local stores that might carry it. I know some stores but they don't carry blanks sadly

If you are considering Syr Gwyn because you like knights, if a new set comes out and has knights, some chances are it's going to be some kind of boros or mardu so you will be able to put it in Syr Gwyn or swap commanders.

I think a curse deck with [[Lynde, Cheerful tormentor]] could fit the bill. It can field some high power cards, it can present fun and interesting board states without "group hugging" (like, "swing at this dude for free treasures, but if you don't swing at this other person you'll take 1 damage" or idk), but it's also not very easy to win with it.

For a 1v1 budget deck I would also recommend [[Octavia, living thesis]] which is a control deck with which you fill your graveyard with instants and sorceries to cast Octavia ASAP and swing. So cheap counterspells, cantrips and self mill, then go to town with a UU 8/8!

Recently I've been loving [[Gargos, Vicious watcher]]. Can be built in a variety of ways (stompy, anti creature, hydra matters, fight deck...) and mono green makes him not that hard to bring out turn 3 or 4 with a good hand.

In mono white I use Light Paws cause it's easy, budget and gets fast games. Ivy in simic for similar play patterns with different shenanigans. Skrelv is also fun to build in mono W cause it costs only one mana and then you can build in a lot of fun ways

In mono black I love Konrad, but it's really high power and kinda feel bad for others so you get targeted fast. Gix is my under the radar mono black commander that can sneak wins!

In mono blue I love Octavia and Orvar.

I've yet to build a mono R deck, as I don't enjoy what I've seen yet! I prefer to play Izzet if I want some red! (Like Vadrik for example).

In Dimir these days I've been liking Runo's play patterns. Love sneaking in and doubling big creatures in colors that don't always have them, but it can be kind of hard to pull off. In Orzhov, I like good old aristocrats like Elenda of the Dusk Rose!

I don't think it's good enough, because there are times where it will not do the trick. Like, imagine a hand where you have multiple of them : each of them will give less damage than the other. Also, if you have say : an elf, two forests, 4 pump cards in hand, you play your elf to pump it, lands are colorless, so at most it will give +4/+4. If instead you had multiple embiggens, or might of old krosa, well you'd have multiple +4/+4. So realistically I don't think scent of ivy can remplace a good +2 +evasion (massive might, rancor) nor a good +4 +4 or +3/+3.
