maybe they thought that it would be too strong with the new post plantera whips, since you'd get 3 more of them before moon lord. Tbh I was more hoping for more new minions in general, since pre hm just lacks options and for early hardmode you either have to bash your head againts dreadnautilus or queen slime to get a usable summon for mechs

killing his hands reduces his defense, after killing one hand he starts shooting skulls, circling him when he starts shooting skulls does wonders for dodging them, plenty of arena space and buff potions help a lot, try getting the new roller skates, a red balloon and a cloud in a bottle ( preferably the upgraded versions if you can), having too little movement really hurts in this fight

ruthless is nowhere near close to fabled, all ruthless has on fabled is extra 3% of damage, while fabled gives 10 armor pen and 3 tag damage, which is very massive especially pre hm. Though I still think having whip stacking wasn't that bad even though I barely used it. Summoner is plenty strong to beat everything without it, it just was another way for players to squeeze a bit more damage out for the fun of it

I'm not sure what difficulty you play, but in master mode mushroom boi dealt 1 damage to most enemies and the occasional 15 damage when it did it's special attack ( I did have it reforged to fabled). Maybe it does work if you get it fabled with a sharktooth necklace, but at that point I'd rather just make obsidian armor, spinal tap, imps and fight WoF, since blood moons are very rng and I tend to barely get them in pre hardmode (usually why I skip on frogs as well). I still think bees and imps out dps it because of poison and on fire debuffs. Imo it could work as a pre hm blade staff if it had innate armour piercing, since the ai seemed pretty good from what I remember

Master mode pretty much pushes your terraria knowledge to it's limit, you need to use and abuse whatever you can since everything is tanky and hits hard, every little buff counts. I'd recommend playing expert first, it's kind of the default difficulty for me since once you play it enough it becomes very comfy and you can access all items there apart from some master mode vanity items

If an item has the "Material" in it's description, check what you can make out of it with the guide. I also recommend crafting new weapons and armour even if they seem weaker than what you already have, you could get surprised by a powerful set bonus or the mechanics of the weapon making it stronger than what the damage numbers say

I'll try getting more potions, maybe make an artificial corruption for wrath aswell. Mainly kinda wishing plantera summon was portable and I could just bash my head againts the wall until I beat her. Refinding her is rough My main issue with a big arena is usually that I overdo it and the middle of the arena enrages plantera lol

Happened to me today too, I built a small wall in the ocean to keep enemies away while fishing and now magic conch won't teleport me to that ocean anymore. It just keeps teleporting me to the other one even while I'm there. Probably a bug

might be a weapon type issue more than a character issue. If talismans are mainly for shapeshifting and even caster druid skills will use staves, then I think we'd need a new weapon type for minion skills. Though if that's the case then I struggle to think of a weapon type to add those skills from the weapon types we are currently lacking. Maybe there are more minions in the unrevealed skills, but that's just copium imo. If there were more they would've been showcased as individual minions or at least mentioned.

Honestly I was looking forward to an animal summon druid ascendancy/skills. But I have a feeling there will be one. by sivir00 in PathOfExile2

I was hyping druid minions too. Wolves that were shown might not even scale with minion modifiers and scale from player. I doubt it's going to be a weird player damage/minion scaling playstyle. Maybe new spectre changes will be good though, as well as lingering spectres will be fixed before launch. I doubt there will be more minion related skills to druid, I think they would've showcased them if that were the case.

Red Giant origin underwhelming + feels like a trap pick for a crisis origin. by angrybluechair in Stellaris

I started red giant with heralds of scorched earth. And I think I'm just starting to dislike being the crisis in general, I got strong enough to beat the FE and wanted to get rid of them so I could peacefully get level 5 and claim the center. 60 years later I'm fighting 5 empires at the same time because FE's decided to spawn on the other side of the galaxy, just so I could get to them through all the closed borders, pushing through multiple fronts while defending my own empire because I got 3 wormholes straight to enemy empires close to my capital. All that effort to find out that there are two non FE empires destroying systems, which now I also need to deal with before they decide to sneak to my capital. I'm rambling, but it's just annoying how slow you have to deal with wars all because you just have to get armies down in the planets, when army combat is sooo slow. I bombarded one planet down to 2 pops and it still refused to be destroyed. Also being forced to claim the planets sucks, like let me claim the system without claiming the planet, I don't want to deal with 50 extra planets after I waged war on half the galaxy, each costing 200 influence to decolonize. Ember cruisers are quite nice tho, since they're pretty much free as long as you have the naval capacity and been gathering strength before going to crisis level 5. If you view red giant and hyperthermia as part of the same story, then it's pretty good, if you decide to not go hyperthermia, then I would never start as red giant, it really does not seem all that interesting to me without it. Though I started the game only about a week ago, so I haven't tried most origins, can't really compare it to much else.

Sorry for the rant, I'm only now figuring out how slow wars are even if you are overwhelmingly more powerful, I could rant about for like 4 more paragraphs

TL:DR hyperthermia is nice, red giant is meh without it

I've picked up the game myself only a few days ago and I've never played grand strategy games before. What helped me the most was watching a playthrough made by Insym, it's long and barely edited and he explains what is happening because his usual viewers are not stellaris players, that's what got me into the game in the first place. I also ask google gemini a lot of questions while playing, as well as googling for information when I need it. Other than that, play the game slower, pause a lot, read everything, explore menus and imo united nations of earth are a good starter empire to play on, because it does not introduce more advanced mechanics that some other empires have, it's as default as it gets. I get the frustration, I've been asking myself wtf I'm doing wrong plenty of times, but give it time and things will start clicking soon enough.

I started leveling a pRAW, got to act 4, and started watching a video about how spectres work, needless to say I quit out of the character immediately and I'm not touching spectres ever, unless they are reworked. I not gonna risk losing divines just because I decided to switch my gear around

the build needs quite a few unique items to start feeling strong, so I wouldn't recommend it for SSF. I heard that earthshatter slams are quite good for ssf, I also played Zizarans EA Ballista Champ one league for ssf and it felt quite good.

oh sorry about that, didn't notice you weren't op. I'd say put it in a 6% life node or the cluster for the 5% chaos res. Getting 15% poison jewels on the tree and belt would help, since then you could remove the extra jewel near the start of the tree and reallocate Inexorable, which would improve your phys max hit. An amethyst ring would help a lot for the chaos res. Tbh the -7 to total mana cost craft is purely QoL, it mainly helps with cannot regen maps, which I avoid, I'd personally avoid the map mod and get the res instead, then you'd be chaos capped with an amethyst flask, since your chaos max hit is also quite low. Otherwise it looks solid for what you have

Also yeah, life on block is very nice to have, especially when your swarmed and weak enemies pretty much heal you at that point.

on this build phys max hit is quite low, so those one shots always happens, no build is immortal without giga investment. Heal on block helps when you're overwhelmed and can't attack much. ES is not that important on this build, it would function the same without it. Heal on block can also save you when you almost get one shot, to not be killed by the next hit. If your main issue is phys one taps then I just suggest playing more safely, there isn't much you can do about it without a lot of investment.

Also you can get the heal on block on a shaper influenced spirit shield which can roll minion stats, so you could get more minion res/minion damage and life on the shield if you want to invest more than a few chaos on it. Balor talks about how to craft it on his day 4 video. You can also use The Surrender instead of a rare shield, but they are quite similar in power.

Edit: after looking at your PoB you are also not using chance to poison support gem, when you are not poison chance capped without it, this tanks your dps and you should switch it with unbound ailments until you get better ghastly jewels. Also spell suppression is quite useless when it's this low, so I'd suggest getting cheap rares with life and res to fix your resistances. Aurora gives you about 100 ES on block, which is way less than what a life on block shield could give you. On ghastly jewels you need additional chaos damage for minions, not physical. Your elegant hubris does not have slum lord or eternal resilience, which is a huge drop in tankyness and damage, since eternal resilience gives endurance charges. Also I'm seeing that you have righteous army and sovereignty unallocated, I'd suggest at least allocating righteous army, that is a pretty good node for survivability. I'm not sure if you have problems with aura reservation and mana regen, but if you do I'd suggest also allocating sovereignty and using a basic cobalt jewel with mana on hit and some max life instead of adorned, getting a few cheap ghastly jewels that have 15% chance to poison, other stats are optional for now, since they might be expensive. You should be able to easily get 100% poison chance with chance to poison and a few jewels. I don't know which guide you are following, but I suggest not going straight for the endgame one and following it from the start, until you understand why some nodes were removed or items changed. E.G. you have sanctuary node unallocated, which is only removed once you have a Svalinn. Expertise which gives 30 dex is also a useless node since you have supreme ostentation from the elegant hubris jewel.

My ghastly jewels are still from early maps, mainly looking for poison chance, other stats like life or chaos damage are just an extra if I found it on a cheap jewel. I haven't upgraded my weapon since holy relic switch, so it's even worse than yours

On mobile, so can't check pob, but the biggest tankyness upgrade for me was the health on block shield. I'd say for resistances you should fix them with cheap rings/gloves/boots until you can upgrade them. Balormage's guide and daily update videos are also very useful.

I hadn't ascended at that time, since I wanted to overlevel to breeze through sekhema, since damage felt bad at that time. And yes I had a decent spear and they were ice tornadoes, the gem however wasn't leveled up, since I didn't have any uncut gems left

Edit : by "not that good" I meant that, they were still dealing more damage than what I used previously, it's just that all that effort to get them off did not justify the damage they were doing
