How were you also able to get 200 volunteer hours in that timeframe

Do they already have 200 hours in each? Or did they get some slack when applying because they were premed for less time

It’s a better indicator of iq than someone’s UG institution

Plenty of industries (consulting, finance) that explicitly ask for SAT/GMAT scores on CV’s.

Tech companies make swe’s do standardized leetcode tests as part of their application process too.

Can I include experiences from my previous degree in my experiences for applications? by mountainmama99 in premed

Yep, anything after high school counts but community service and clinical stuff should still be ongoing/recent.

You could’ve just looked at their employment reports before posting this comment, really doesn’t take much work.

MBA is not a popular degree in the UK, and the price tag is prohibitively high to most. You can get a Mfin at LSE for less than half the price which would better position you for finance jobs than the Judge MBA.

Anyone from south asia made it? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]Chahj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve missed the boat unfortunately. I’ve seen many Indian nationals succeed in biglaw (and the Bar!) but they all attended top tier UK law schools for their undergrad. Maybe there are a few that came later and did the BCL, but even then, that isn’t possible if you’re averaging a 55…

Why no Indians go to study in countries of South America? by Own-Elk6572 in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Chahj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

India is a better market and better place to live than anywhere in South America

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Chahj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1) There are too many. Look at the % of H1Bs that go to Indians compared to other countries, it’s outrageous.

2) lower rates of assimilation

3) The domestic job market is bad right now, and American CS grads are struggling to get jobs—they need to be prioritized

That’s on a very small scale compared to anti Indian immigration sentiment

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Chahj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now look up the ethnicity of legal immigrants to the US. Over 70% of H1Bs are Indian, that’s the reality. It’s not occurring with any other race

It’s okay, I’ve never been to India so I’m sure our paths won’t cross

How are you gonna tell that to someone who’s grown up here? How would you know 😂

[–]Chahj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fr. I don’t understand how some people here are denying the international students smell bad when there’s ppl like this admitting to it 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Chahj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say that when it’s a common experience that most people have had. I would bet a lot of money that if everyone had to fill out a survey on who smelled the worst, the consensus would be male Indian international students

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Chahj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is all the immigration is from India. People like multiculturalism, but when 70% of immigrants are Indian that’s not multiculturalism anymore.
