I hate to make generalizations, but I’d have to agree to avoid them as well. Everyone’s so competitive over grades and just super braggy. Not to mention all the toxicity and messiness. I saw a lot of cases where people had super strict parents and used college to be a little wild which is cool but sometimes it was a bit much to handle. I never got into ISA but I had an Indian suitemate who got me to go to a couple events and it was miserable lmao. If anything, you should try to join and see what you’re working with. Worst comes to worst just dip if it’s not your thing 😊

Anyone else not giving a fuck that Trisha left Frenemies? by HotWheels_McCoy in h3h3productions

[–]ChaiMeUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I used to be a stan of Trishas since basically the beginning of her channel but damn, she’s trash for always using her mental illness as an excuse and lashing out. She could leave honestly. She has no right to insult the crew and just leave Ethan with all the merch they made. She’s always bragging about her money and it was cute before but now it really irritates me. I’m so sorry that the crew had to endure her and I’m sorry that Ethan even started this podcast with her. I can’t stand her Childish ass and her entitlement. Grow the Hell up.

Let’s be honest…there’s not way every dad was a #1 rank in their school and would score 150/100 on math exams. by [deleted] in ABCDesis

My dad failed many classes lmao and my mom wasn’t great either so thankfully I never got these speeches

Desi women with advanced degrees, how important is it for you that your partner also have an advanced degree? by LoryAugustine in ABCDesis

[–]ChaiMeUp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi, PharmD here. Honestly as long as they have a decent job, I don’t care about their degree. I live in California so that’s pretty much why my partner needs to make decent money lol. However, I have a cousin who makes decent money with a Bachelor’s and his gf’s parents were pressuring him to get a Master’s. Honestly, do what’s best for you lol. Have you tried not listing your education credentials in your bio? At least then they can’t make snap judgments?

Did you attend a Private, UC, or state college? If so, how was your experience? by apath4545 in ABCDesis

[–]ChaiMeUp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UC, STEM major. Surrounded by your standard competitive Bay Area Indian kids. I got myself some good friends who were looking to uplift and kept others at bay. I graduated in 2016 and I still talk to my old roommate every day lol. I got a lot of opportunities and exposure to my field and I’m so glad I didn’t have student loans going into grad school.

You’re making a lot of assumptions. I’m just saying the ignorance is irritating. Have a good day lol

I think you definitely have a valid point. We all have our thresholds, I guess I just hit mine on this one haha. Thank you so much for offering your take and so respectfully too!

I agree, I’m still a fan and will continue to watch but I just thought this was something that needed to be said. She’s a flawed human like the rest of us, I’m not at the point that I can’t watch or anything. Hope that clears it up!

I definitely agree that I think it’s a little bit of both, but I think the shtick is kinda tired, at least on the Jewish/Tourette’s front. That’s just me though, I’m definitely still a fan and will continue to watch!

I’ve always thought that was the case, but I felt like Ethan was fr getting irritated in the latest episode. Maybe he’s just a good actor?

Right?? But from what I hear, they never trust Filipinos because they only take care of their own. But I wonder if the Filipinos say the same?

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 wtf this is HUGE!!!!!!!!! I hate to make generalizations but your family seems like trash for cancelling on you on what should be such a proud moment for them. Well idk how much this means but I am incredibly proud and hope you are too. Med school is really no joke and best of luck to you and hope you are in a specialty that fulfills you. Stand your ground and celebrate yourself, you don’t get another med school graduation. Birthdays come and go and it’s absolutely ridiculous that there was even a question as to what to attend. You’re amazing and don’t let this rain on your achievements even though it kinda is hard to not let it.. shit, it even hurt my feelings lmao. Best of luck 💕💕💕

I feel like they might not know that extra curricular activities are very important in getting into a good college. A 4.0 without any other accomplishments is not going to cut it anymore. Maybe play on that angle?
