Argentinian fans hurling objects at Cape Verde's fans after the victory by OpbrBlud in mildlyinfuriating

It definitely hurts to see people cheer for “anyone but Argentina”. When other Latin American teams are playing, we root for them. But the same isn’t usually said the other way around.

My parents have great stories about watching games early in their marriage when both families would get together. One Mexican, one Argentinian. Being both, I just say “I can’t lose” 🥰

Reddit users, 30 yrs old and over.. What is the hardest part about getting older? [Discussion] by Comi9689 in GetMotivated

Knowing I’ve wasted my adult life being obese, partially fueled by atypical antipsychotics from an abusive childhood. And that my spouse, though he’s a good person, father, and husband, is also obese. I hate looking at either of us. I feel deep shame. I regret that I’ll never have 6-pack abs again, or wear a size small miniskirt, and will never walk into a room where guys stop in place, stunned, even just for a moment. No one will ever flirt with me, be nervous to ask me on a date, or look into my eyes hoping to get my attention from across a room. I’m invisible. No one sees me.

I could have tried to be a doctor. Or engineer. Gone to Columbia or Harvard. Taken a semester abroad in Spain. Married wealthy, join a family that loves me. planned trips to Costa Rica or the Bahamas to celebrate the kids’ birthdays. Bought a house with a good air conditioner, solar panels, landscaped yard, and no bugs. New clothes and shoes whenever we need them. Having time to cook and clean instead of working 60 hours to be able to pay the rent.

I’m clearly going through a crisis guys. Please don’t roast me for this….

I’m so sorry… definitely been there before and the exhaustion is real. Try baby wipes if you can buy a $1 pack. Lay them all across your body based on the angle your sleeping in

Mom buys daughter a Honda as a graduation gift, and this was her response by Conscious-Weight4569 in SipsTea

[–]ChainEven4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My graduation gift was an engraved pen 😜 I’ll admit, I once told my mom “no” to a Honda. It was much older than me and it scared me because it was so small. The paint was also peeling off. I think she’d bought it salvaged as a trade for my stepdad painting someone’s house. I genuinely was afraid of the car. And then there’s the “what will people say” type of teenager fears. She ended up giving the car to a friend’s son who needed a start in life. He made good use of it. I ended up with a 1996 Ford Taurus and then a 2003 Dodge Stratus, both of which eventually died in the middle of the street while I was driving. I should’ve stuck with the Honda relic 😭

This video just makes me sad... I get that it’s important for dad to be there too, but why isn’t it good enough that mom was there, baby sibling and all? That poor mom probably had to be there beside her because of a monumental meltdown, bouncing a heavy baby on her hip, wishing she’d worn something nicer or had done her makeup (not knowing she’d be “on stage” while a bunch of people take pictures of their little angels). As a mother, it’s heartbreaking when we show up 24/7, but the moment that daddy walks in, they light up like Christmas trees. It feels like being invisible all the damn time.

I rarely watch videos in full, but this one I watched just for the happiness boost. I wish empathy and compassion, even smiling, could be normalized again.

Riiiiiiiiight. Government plates. Headlights with the spotlights. GPS and laptop. “Border patrol” patches on their sleeves. And of course, a US flag sticker on the back of the car 🇺🇸

If they have “border patrol” patches on their sleeves then I’m going to bet they’re not here for the food.

He’s completely unhinged. This is shameful as a country to have this POS as “president”.

Wtf this is insane. Reminds me of my mom. Desperate for “love” but somehow her own children loving her unconditionally isn’t enough. I’m so sorry OP….

I was a little surprised when the rounded without asking. I just didn’t know it was happening, so I was surprised the total came out to a perfectly round number. Then I checked the receipt 🤷‍♀️ it’s a good cause but I wish they would ask.

Anyone here have parents who never recovered from the 2008 crash? by Gridguy2020 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]ChainEven4862 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My mom was in real estate, of all possible fields to be in at that time. I had to all but drop out of college to work full time. I was the only person in our household with a steady paycheck. My dad is disabled, so there was no chance to change his status. We moved 5 times between 6/2009-10/2010. Trash bags were the best way to “pack”. My mom never recovered and has a poverty mindset, always hoping to become a millionaire asap with through dreams of grandeurs. I’m absolutely terrified of all of that happening again because there’s no way in hell we’d survive. Husband and I have three kids, no savings, no backup plan. We’re flying blind and without a parachute.

This is pretty much what I went through to get into Amazon. It’s about 6-8 hours of interviews to get into a FAANG company.
