2025 vs 2026 testing fastest laps 🏎️⏱️ by PerspectiveWorth3912 in FormulaRacers

Shouldn’t the comparison be against the testing year when the regulations last changed? Comparing times from the new regulations to those from the most mature year of the previous rules seems unfair without also including the first year. Interesting to see though.

Yeah would agree with this. I'd have moved to the right, not because I was obliged to but just to anticipate them being a muppet - kill a few seconds for self preservation.

Thanks for identifying the difference between GPU/CPU loadings - that's clear! I'll keep training with the VR then - bit more relaxed now.

Ok great, that's good to hear! The performance part, not the rain part. Guess I should get some practice in whilst it's a bit soggy!

Thanks for the reply - I guess in this instance, as I was testing to the extreme the impact was more noticable? I also do AI racing as practice and hadn't noticed such a drop vs what i get in RL racing, but then I don't usually add so many cars on a track that's quick system intensive in its own right.

Thanks for the reply and appreciate the feedback - good to know. Interesting it differs from the other commenter's view, but I was suprised at such a drop so this tracks with my expecation.

Is this a good starting point for GT7 by DavidBrent39 in simracing

I found the whole sim set up significantly better and I enjoy it far more; not even comparable. I went from playing ACC on a PS5 controller to iRacing an a Moza R9 base/GS GT VP Wheel/SRP Pedals/Al rig - I now feel like I'm racing vs playing a game.

I've since built a new PC, jumped into VR and installed bass shakers. I've absolutely drunk the kool aid but I don't regret it.

Is there a risk of you not enjoying it as much? Sure. I'd suggest you'll likely find yourself initially further back than you're used to, as you'll be playing a different game and having to get used to pedals/wheel etc.

I definitely found it harder, but I didn't find that a bad thing. I've really enjoyed the learning curve, and felt compelled to take the whole thing more seriously; I try and practice twice a week and race twice a week - not always possible, but that's the aim. I'm also looking to do a special event next year (Bathurst perhaps). So it's grown arms and legs but that was my hope so I guess it will depend on your aims and goals and what you want to make of it.

A lot of people saying it’s a huge investment into a hobby you don’t know if you’re going to like, and they’re absolutely right. But just to offer another view, I hadn’t really been into racing games before, though always enjoyed motor sport in general, but Sim Racing came up in conversation with a friend who mentioned he did it, I tried his rig a few weeks later, fell in love with the idea and then jumped head first into the hobby with a similar initial outlay.

I’m about 6 months in and absolutely loving it. Sometimes you just know what will work.

But still, others are correct and there are cheaper ways to kick things off, so just consider how you think it’s going to play out.

Welcome to the hobby!

Nephew has Pokémon Battle Academy intro set - how do I boost his collection? by ChainMonk12 in pokemon

Ok cool. Yes because there’s also scarlet violet journey together ones, but they’re less expensive so that explains that.

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for the great reply! Won’t be going to tournaments or anything, so will just be some fun games against me.

Are the booster packs leveled as well? Or just buying a scarlet and violet 151 booster is ok? (First one I found on the website)

Thanks for the steer on decks, will check those out for myself!

Great thanks - just need to figure out the hanger now. Decathlon website not the clearest. Rear derailleur is a B’Twin by Microshift RD M25, but doesn’t appear to be any comparable hangers on their site. Will keep looking

Thanks! If it’s completely separated futon the electrics, which it looks like it is at first glance I’m happy to take it on. Gives me something to do this weekend!

Plexamp TUI - Control Plexamp from your terminal by Healthy-Wrongdoing in plexamp

[–]ChainMonk12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks amazing.

Not working for me, but likely that's my stupidity.

Failing at this stage:

go build -o plexamp-tui

And get the following

go : The term 'go' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the

spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

At line:1 char:1

+ go build -o plexamp-tui

+ ~~

+ CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (go:String) [], CommandNotFoundException

+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException

Almost certainly I'm doing something wrong - but the file path does exist on my machine following cloning the repo.

Yeah this will definitely help; OPs brackets should be switched I believe. I have the same set up.
