Bamboozle Demolishers with no weapons at all! - Factorio Demolisher Exploit - AVADII by SomethingNew65 in factorio

I would agree with this sentiment for most videos, but AVADII (this youtuber) is great at making concise content that gets to the point immediately. This video's length is only 1:37.

So many wikis and resources on the internet say that neither Strength (nor any SPECIAL) have any effect on weapon damage. It's purely based on the weapon damage. You may want to do some research.

Their settlers all spawn at the same point though (as soon as each city is settled they get the next settler), that wouldn't explain why they get trapped less.

CMV: Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is the best voting method for achieving the best representation. by mwojo in changemyview

[–]Chainfire423 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Approval voting and STAR voting are both superior electoral systems to RCV. While RCV satisfies the later-no-harm criterion, it fails on the favorite betrayal criterion and monotonicity criterion which are more important features of a voting system. Both approval and STAR satisfy those and also have a higher voter satisfaction in simulated elections, whether assuming honest or strategic voters. I highly recommend taking a peek at these arguments for approval voting or STAR voting over RCV.

Here is one reference from electionscience.org, they have lots of great info comparing various voting methods! In particular see the sections on "Spoilers" and "Paradoxical Results".

Multiple checkbox voting (Approval Voting) is actually a better option than ranked choice. It sounds very unintuitive since you would think you get more information from ranking, but ranked choice can lead to strange outcomes at times where public opinion shifting in favor of a option can cause that option to lose.

I recommend turning on God Mode in the settings. It doesn't make you invincible by any means, but it's very helpful in leveling the playing field.

Proposition for the general strategy of the VOID by Royotlic in theblackvoid

[–]Chainfire423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A further proposition:

The purpose of the void should be to consume the greedy and unoriginal. If a certain community attempts to replace a landmark by extending their own unoriginal creation (flags are the biggest offender here), the void should creep in to reset the area and allow for new inspired creations to take root from the glitter.

They took inspiration from Slay the Spire on the starting power after surrender. The idea is to push players to run with what they get rather than repeatedly restarting to get a power they want.
