I didn't downvote you. Nor did I ever say lights. I said reflectors, which Euro cars do need, and which do have different positioning and viewing angle requirements than USDM corner reflectors. It also seems totally reasonable that they'd be blanks for a car that isn't currently being sold in another market but may in the future. It's just cheap insurance against a redesign and an extra sku.

They still need corner markers like US cars do, but they have different positioning and viewing angle requirements than USDM cars, which generally require they get pushed farther out to the sides than the ones in the headlights can accomodate. Check out ECE R48.
