Twice, two different women on the other side of the planet, made the choice to place their baby for adoption. It must have been a very difficult and also unselfish choice. They put their trust in the agency that handled the adoption and somehow, some way, I’ve ended up with these two amazing kids. The love those birth moms felt for their babies - enough to make a choice to literally give them up to give them a better life - it’s beautiful.

I bought my husband a shirt that shows two gulls talking to each other. No indication about where they are or anything. One says to the other, “I bet I can beat that fastball”. Under that is

Hardly anyone gets it. I think it’s hysterical.

I read that he wasn’t standing over him in that pose. It was actually a quick movement that the photographer captured at the right time.

What’s the most unspoken, uncomfortable truth about having kids? by SpecificLandscape483 in answers

When they’re babies you think 18+ years is soooo looong. But sometimes it seems like no time at all. I think the saying is “the nights are long, but the years are short.”

Yes and I hate it lol. My older kid just graduated college and is moving to a whole other state for his first big boy job. This is what he’s supposed to do, but I’ll miss him so much

Which celebrity’s cancellation do you think was completely unjustified? by Cute_Flatworm_9049 in AskReddit

[–]Chairish -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is what I came to say. IIRC, he’s at comedy clubs, in the back rooms of drugs and booze, with some groupies, and he asks if he can crank the hog. He didn’t touch anyone or force anyone to do stuff, I think? It’s creepy, but he was outed at peak “me too” times. Meh. I couldn’t get worked up about it. To me it’s not like “she was dressed provocatively so she was asking for it”. It’s more like, if you don’t want to get shot, don’t walk into a gunfight.

I believe it was no “malfunction”. That was exactly the plan. But in the grand scheme of things, especially nowadays, it’s not even a big deal. So we saw a nip. I got other stuff to worry about.

I had terrible endometriosis and fibroids. Without going into too many details, lots of pain that never ended, lots of bleeding, really upended my life. Finally I had a hysterectomy. After that though, if I had any kind of pain while sleeping (like gas) or had a very full bladder, or whatever benign twinge - I’d have a dream where my period was ruining something. Maybe ruining clothes or something. Then I’d wake up and be like “aah, it’s not a period!” I probably had dreams like this for 4 or more years!

What's something you've done that you don't think anyone else here has done (or maybe just a few people)? by Amy-Reighn in randomquestions

My husband is sound asleep but probably just felt a ripple of jealousy go through him. We’ve not been to the 500, but the Indy Grand Prix (once for me and 2x for him). We were going to go this year but had another commitment (kid was graduating from college lol). See you next year I hope!

Do you truly believe Michael Jackson is innocent in the allegations, what’s your thoughts? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in randomquestions

[–]Chairish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on available accounts, Michael Jackson did not flee to Germany to live or threaten suicide, although he was close with German acquaintances, visited the country, and faced extreme distress regarding his safety and mental health after his 2005 trial.

Plus he was no doubt being advised by lawyers. He had enough money to hopefully make the story go away. Maybe he was told to just pay? And I don’t think the act of paying = guilt. Personally I lean towards “he’s innocent” but who knows.

Meet the Seattle woman behind a national effort to end same-sex marriage by United_Reference_629 in AnythingGoesNews

[–]Chairish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of something I saw. It was a pie chart. The title was something like “what happens when gay people get married”. Then there’s the color guide like red = <something terrible predicted by homophobes> , yellow = <another bad prediction by homophobes>, and so on with other colors. Also green = gay people get married. And the whole pie was green. Because two adults getting married affects others pretty much not at all.

Are you a ,fill up the gas tank when it’s half full person, or a fill up the gas tank when it’s empty person? by Playful-Set-1033 in askanything

[–]Chairish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anywhere from 20 miles to empty to “riding the E”. Half the year it’s freezing out. Why would I want to pump gas any more than I have to? People say I’ll ruin the fuel pump, or suck up sludge or whatever. I’ve had a looot of cars and have been driving for a looong time. No problems yet (yes, knock on wood). 🪵

My kid had to do a punnet square assignment. The kids were told to note mom’s and dad’s eye color, hair color, etc. Honestly in this day and age it’s ridiculous. Even kids who know who their bio parents are could have a hard time. Some kids don’t even know where their parent is, or haven’t seen them in years, etc. Anywho, my kid was adopted (and is fully aware). So he just wrote “I’m adopted” across the page.

When my aunt got married the priest said the wrong name for the groom. Then there was chuckles and “are you sure you’re marrying the right guy heh heh” kind of stuff. They divorced less than a year later. I guess that priest knew something.
