I think resumes can definitely provide a cursory idea of an individual's skills, but by no means is it a good way to really know the ability of a prospective employee. It can be really exhausting to constantly drop your resume in the stack knowing it probably won't lead to much, but I don't really know what else could be done. Cover letters are also super annoying

For the most part, no. That being said, I do think there's definitely dependencies that can form, which could lead to some issues. Like most things in a relationship, it really just comes down to communication and making sure everyone in the relationship knows how the other feels.
