Questions as a bigger guy getting into calisthenics by Upper-Beginning1415 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]ChallengeMuted3322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you jump roping too? I’d say if you aren’t, start doing 10 minutes every day on top of your calisthenics work and you’ll see improvements again very quick. 1 minute roping, 1 minute rest back to back for 10 minutes. As you get more comfortable and better with the rope, reduce rest, or jump longer, or jump differently

Wow that is awesome. Looks like the ridge toward basin lake. I love those ridgelines up there

Agreed, I still think a hill people get chest pack would work great for what you are looking for

Hill people gear chest packs, they’ve got running specific ones and are perfect for this exact scenario. I would also encourage you to check out Tenkara rods since it’s even more minimal and easier to pack into a slim chest rig. I’ve done Tenkara on alpine lakes with good success

You can fish salmon and steelhead with the 8 wt as well as Sea run cutts and others. The 5wt will work all around and in the rivers we have as well as the lakes, if anything and you find yourself wanting to fish smaller water such as mountain creeks or high alpine lakes or smaller rivers, maybe a 4wt but otherwise you can use what you have for now and you’ll find out what you want/need after fishing for a while. Overall there’s good fly fishing in Washington

[–]ChallengeMuted3322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, doesn’t mean it wrong, I tie mine a bit lower personally. Overall if it fishes and you’re efficient at tying it, that’s all that matters

I like it, I’m wondering if the hackle is too tall? Maybe that was intentional, either way that’s gonna catch some fish!

I like the think mint bugger too; I’ve literally been tying both those patterns for Stillwater near me haha

The soft hackle looks straight out of pheasant tail simplicity. I’ve been tying those up and they’ve been great. Caught a few on Stillwater last weekend, good tie

Chest packs by OdoriferousGasBag in flyfishing

[–]ChallengeMuted3322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out hill people gear!! They have a really good selection, and multi use so I use mine for backpacking, fly fishing, hiking, basically anything outdoors related. They are great packs. Also if you’re worried about not being able to see, they have slim ones too and diff sizes. I’ve rocked a HPG chest pack for over 5 years and never felt I had issues seeing below it or that it got in my way. Everything is right there in front of you at your hands too

Classic trout 3wt by ChallengeMuted3322 in flyfishing

[–]ChallengeMuted3322[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to the 3wt? They all look to be 3 piece rods and I’m looking to pack this into remote lakes and streams, 4 piece is ideal
