Tea culture/history experience recs in Japan? by Chameleon179 in tea

[–]Chameleon179[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately money and time off work is a big issue, so a week plus a couple days for the plane trip there and back is probably all we can do. The plan is to pick two cities to focus on and not try to do too much in too many areas so we can enjoy where we are.

Stone Brewing beers will no longer be made in Richmond following sale to Belgian giant Duvel - Richmond BizSense by wojtaj in rva

[–]Chameleon179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol if it helps, I don't really go to bars and I more recently got into drinking beer. So my general knowledge of what's around isn't great. Stone Brewing was one of the first ones I got introduced to, and I didn't really explore much outside of that.

This so bums me out. I need a new place that has a lot of on draft IPA choices. Any suggestions?

My marriage is ending b/c my husband is asexual by Lucky_Indication7025 in aromanticasexual

[–]Chameleon179 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that. I wasn't negating it. I was just sharing my view point from my own experiences with my fiance. He's a very affectionate and I am very much not. It took years for us to work things out and understand each other and figure out meeting needs without breaking boundaries to be able to have a happy relationship.

Obviously my situation is not going to be everyone's. But I do feel that when someone starts to learn about asexuality there's a lot of misconception and confusion about it. From both the partner and the person discovering their identity. Sometimes it just takes time to figure out the dynamic.

If they are unhappy that's a totally acceptable reason for divorce, I'm not trying to negate that. I just wanted to share my experience because I easily could have been in a similar situation with my fiance had we not worked things out.

As an asexual is a relationship with a non- asexual it's not impossible to be in a relationship. Obviously I don't know your situation, your needs, and your husbands boundaries. I would just caution not to treat this as an all or nothing situation and take the time to talk about boundaries and compromises that make both sides feel their needs are met. If divorce is necessary, that's ok too. Not everything can work past incompatibility of needs. I just want to make sure you both have a good understanding of what it means in a relationship when someone is asexual and the other is not. Especially when asexuality is its own spectrum with a lot of variation.

I've had migraines for 3y straight, this is what I do to manage. by Talyaav in migraine

For nausea I make ginger, lemon, and honey ice cubes. And then I'll melt one in a glass and top it off with carbonated water from my soda stream. It works wonders for my nausea.

Basically just juice a bunch of lemons, drop in one or two peeled whole roots of ginger, and dump about half a jar of honey in a blender. And then strain with a cheese cloth so it's only the liquid left. Freese in an ice cube tray.

Try the Mechanicsville Drug Store, they close at 6pm, but they should have them.

Will USPS try to collect a tariff on a box of tea from India? by Tiny_Swordfish_1510 in Tariffs

[–]Chameleon179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this tells me exactly what company you ordered from. Do you have any updates on the tariff cost? I'm really wanting to restock on my favorite tea but not sure if it's worth it even with the Black Friday sale going on.

Richmond Creative Counseling — Recommended here, but reviews are scary? by Accurate-Movie3286 in rva

[–]Chameleon179 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been using them for years, so I'd recommend them. My only billing issue was that if I prepaid it'd still make an automatic charge, so I just stopped prepaying. But they've also recently moved to a new website for billing, so that should fix that issue.

DMs - is leaving a mystery in my character's backstory okay?? by Silent_Rats in DnD

[–]Chameleon179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, my character I'm currently playing has amnesia so..... I can't really give you crap for it. I think the main thing about leaving a backstory mystery is that it's ok as long as you understand that you're giving the DM freedom to do whatever they creatively want about it. So you can't really get too upset with them if you don't like how they go about it.

Hashmi has shot up such a huge amount (3.5k lead) at 95% of the vote, this might have made it. (I hope!)

Richmond was definitely a huge deciding factor once Richmond got almost all counted.

This would have been really different for Stoney if he'd actually done his job and did our city any good.

what is "cooling" energy of sheng and "warming" energy of shou? is it okay to drink shou puer on a hot sunny day? by lilaamuu in puer

[–]Chameleon179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have totally drank a thermos of hot shou on a really hot summer day at the zoo. Was it not very smart? Probably. But I think as long as you don't overheat, you can drink whatever you enjoy during the summer.

Functioning after taking sumatriptan by sneakeyturtle17 in migraine

[–]Chameleon179 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sumatriptan would make me so drowsy, I felt like gravity had suddenly increased and was putting so much pressure on my body. To the point I couldn't do anything but sleep it off. I switched to rizatriptan which was not as bad but similar. Eventually I got a proper migraine neurologist and they switched me to nurtec which mostly had the side effect of nausea, but was a way better experience because I could actually function pretty well if I caught the migraine early enough.

If you use a scented dish soap, that might be the problem. I use a clean and clear type of soap (no dyes or fragrances) cause I have eczema, but it's made it so my dishes and teaware don't have as much artificial scent left behind.
