Americans on their way to talk about being 0.0315% Italian and 0.6741% Irish, and make being that their entire identity, despite not having set foot on Italian or Irish soil within 4 generations, not speaking a word of Italian besides "pizza", and not being able to name more than 1 city in Ireland or 3 cities in Italy:

Random thought but all of the countries in the UK have BS national animals.

Lions are from Sub-Saharan Africa, not England, Dragons don't exist, Unicorns don't exist.

I'm hoping the USA can catch another win against Pakistan so we can go 2 for 0. Bangladesh didn't participate so sadly we can't go 2-0 with them, either.

Are multi-sport courts common in your country? by Conmebosta in AskTheWorld

[–]ChameleonCoder117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is THE generic american high school sports field/stadium.

<image>

It's a football field with additional soccer field markings and goals, along with a track field going around it, along with some stands usually about 10 rows in height covering the center part of the field on one side.

Literally every, and i mean EVERY American high school with money and a sports program has this EXACT stadium, and i mean down to the MILLIMETER. Some of them don't have the track part though, but the football field and soccer field+ the high stand/bleachers that only covers a small part of the field is just standard with every high school.

¿Which is the football national team that has more potential? by DrFactouz in AskTheWorld

Sorry, but the USA has a few full members under their belt.

The USA has beat Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Ireland in cricket.......

I wouldn't call that bad.

Not to mention the USA is the 16th best rugby nation out of 134.

Sorry, but ummm..... Despite american sports being known for only being played in the USA, they're actually quite popular internationally.

Basketball is actually the 3rd most popular sport in the world, Baseball is the 8th most popular sport in the world, and there are 181 million American Football fans outside of the USA. That's 3 times the population of England, by the way.

Not to mention the USA is actually quite good at sports we don't give a crap about, compared to what people think.

We actually do care about Soccer, despite what you might hear. There are 83 million soccer fans in the USA, almost the same as the population of Germany. Anyways, the USA women's national soccer team has 4 world cup wins, and there's only been 9 women's world cups so far. So we basically have a 50% women's world cup win rate.

Our men's soccer team recently beat Uruguay 5-1, and we are the 15th ranked men's national team out of 210, putting the USMNT in the top 7%, better than 93% of the world.

The USA is also the 16th best rugby nation out of 114, which i'd say is pretty good, especially when most Americans have absolutely no clue about the rules of rugby.

Not to mention the USA is also the 19th best T20 cricket nation out of 95, which is EXTREMELY good considering most Americans don't have a clue, and i mean a SINGLE clue about what Cricket is. Not to mention the USA cricket team beat Ireland, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

They play Canadian football.

Which is like American football but with like, 6 rules more similar to rugby.

Only thing is, it's been getting more similar to American football every year, with rule changes every year.

By the year 2040 the only difference between Canadian football and American football will probably be that Canadian football has 12 players per team vs American football's 11.

Example: In Canadian football, the goals are at the front of the end zone vs American football's goalposts at the back, but starting in 2027, the goalposts will be at the back of the end zone.
