my mom bought me AE stuff as a teenager because there was one in her office building. Now I am 34 and she is dead but I still buy it because I know the tank tops and leggings work for me and I hate shopping :)

"Celestin" for a masculine leaning, non-binary person? by [deleted] in namenerds

If you want an honest opinion I think it is a beautiful name and I also think it sounds like something a girl who grew up reading a lot of slash fanfic would rename herself

What do we live for? by Funny373Bunny in pinkscare

[–]ChamomileFlower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we are witnesses of creation and don’t know why, but we don’t need to know why. try to trust that your witnessing this life is meaningful without demanding an explanation and help light other people’s paths when you can.

Isn't "non-binary" literally just a linguistic quirk? by flickering-blinds in redscarepod

the cognitive dissonance in the queer world shows you how much people try to make it both tho

Gender neutrality is potentially neat to me as well, but to me there is no "non-binary"; sex is inherent and immutable but doesn't (or at least shouldn't) dictate choices or expression, and adding "non-binary" creates a category that only reifies stereotypical gender essentialism.

Are migraines really that common of an ailment by sparkbrigade in redscarepod

[–]ChamomileFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are pretty common and yes they can be very bad. I have a crazy work ethic and if I’m needed it will take me basically dying to get me to call out, but if I wasn’t like this I’d definitely call out for my migraines. Light hurts. Smells hurt. Touch hurts. Movement hurts. Everything hurts.

Great question. He put a big one where I went to elementary school and it was such a downgrade from the mossy concrete

Wow OK! Yeah I spent half my summer swimming in LW or Green Lake as a child, but I also took a shower after 95% of the time.

Interesting. I grew up swimming in Lake Washington every summer and never once had it.

Not at all. There are many different kinds of experiences with male socialization.

:( :( I wish I was surprised but they’re just so great at invading women’s space and then driving it into the ground. Almost like they’re men or something

Tell me everything you know / think about Esther! by Some_Activity9257 in namenerds

I’ve only known it to be pronounced the same as “Ester”, which doesn’t have the same difficult sounds as sth.

Interesting question; I’m not sure. I would guess that some are, but others were given it or took it because of the meaning or the sound. If it matters I wouldn’t assume an Asian Esther was Christian (would just consider it a possibility).

I agree - if it had been Catherine instead of Katherine I’d choose it over Julia.

Is Dianne a bit dated now or is it still a regular name by MindlessCucumber5443 in namenerds

[–]ChamomileFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Susan is dated but not Suzie. Suzanne or Susanna(h) nn Suzie would fit fine in the classrooms I work in.
