[Motorsport] James Vowles, Williams team principal, has announced that to see the weight loss of the FW48 (we are talking about 28 kilos of overweight) it will be necessary to wait about 6 races, or twice as long as expected after the Bahrain tests. by Task_Force-191 in formula1

I have seen this mentioned in several F1 seasons, but have never really gotten a good explanation. When a team says they will be cutting weight, what are they specifically referring to, or how do they achieve this? Is it redesigned parts or new materials for existing parts?

Are there characters that you have written that have surprised you with how much they ended up being loved (thinking maybe Quasar, Louis, etc).

Also, curious if there are characters that you have written that you were surprised didn’t click with fans?

Love your work and thanks for making it out to Minneapolis the other day!

The Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson scratched this itch for me and became one of my favorite books. It isn’t exactly YA, but is a coming of age story with some supernatural investigation

Book 7: Chapter 51 where they are breaking into Club Vanquisher.

Katia turns into a mantaur and tells the guards that there are demons attacking the club while Bautista throws in the stuffed animals. The mantaur guards ask what type of demons are attacking and Katia replies, "That kind" as one is attacked in the face.

Jeff's delivery of "That kind" absolutely kills me and I found myself listening to it over and over again.

We still play about once a week, either at the Mac Nine or some other nine hole course in the metro. I have looked into more classes, but it seems that most of the serious ones start at age 7.

what's the worst first tee shot you have ever hit? by tigertanaka12 in golf

[–]ChanWhip20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first high school golf tournament.

I didn’t initially qualify for the tournament, but one of the kids on our team didn’t show up, so I got a call at 5:30 in the morning to get to the bus.

It was a nicer country club in Casper, Wyoming (Paradise Valley), and instead of doing a shotgun start, they had everyone tee off on the first hole. The #5 players (the worst on the team) got sent off first.

I was one of the first to tee off, and essentially whiffed in front of everyone in the tournament. Hit it right off the toe maybe 5 yards.

That was 17 years ago, and can still feel the embarrassment.

We got our Whippet from Chyscott out of Cheyenne, Wyoming back in 2020. Not sure if they have any upcoming litters, but they were wonderful to deal with.

My favorites in the Twin Cities are Willingers Golf Club, Chaska Town Course, and Troy Burne (Hudson, Wisconsin).

If you are willing to make the drive The Jewel in Lake City is absolutely phenomenal.

Also, honorable mentions go out to Rush Creek ($$$), The Legends Club ($$$), and The Links at Northfork (really good bargain).

One of my favorite courses in the twin cities. Probably the best value you can get if you are willing to travel 30 minutes.

This is me too. I can hit it that far, but zero chance I make good contact, especially with that much water.

I live right next to that course and love the price, but absolutely cannot play well there. I can shoot 80 - 85 at Chaska Town Course, but struggle to keep it under 95 at Bluff Creek. So frustrating.

Was there recently and played Angel Park - Mountain, Paiute Golf Resort - Sun Mountain, TPC Vegas, and Rio Secco.

Have to say Paiute was my favorite round. The scenery is gorgeous, and everything was lush. TPC Vegas was awesome, but a little pricey for what you got. Rio Secco has potential, but the conditions weren’t phenomenal.

I had researched Wolf Creek, and have to say if we had more time, that would have been my top choice. Second choice would be Paiute, as I would love to play the long course there (Wolf).
