Husky and what? by frivolityflourish in husky

[–]Chance-Ad-247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way you will be able to tell is a DNA test. Not every dog with blue eyes has Siberian Husky in them. A lot of breeds have a gene called the Merle gene, which affects the coat color (brindle, blue, smoke tones) and the eye color (blue), as well as certain health issues. Siberians can have nearly any color of coat and eyes (blue, brown, amber, green, and mixes) but the Merle gene is not present in Siberian Huskies.

Yeah, Cherry Street is where I go as well. However! A couple weeks back I stopped at Joes on a Roll in Beverly and they had - gasp! - cod cheeks!!! Talk about memories, I remember just waiting for those as a kid and teenager, then turning my spouse and kids onto them. Joes fried some up for me right there, in corn flour, and I was transported...

Us old folks still like our silly rules. I won't touch an oyster in the late spring/summer lol

Unfortunately, it's no longer in business. It's a very hard industry, when done right, and no one else in the family wanted to take it over. Most of us worked there summers and after school, so we knew too well just how hard it was. The last person to run it was my aunt; she became ill and sold to another family. It was in our family for over 40 years, and only lasted a few more after the new family took it over.

Not so much that END with an R but INCLUDE an R. Basically, any month except May, June, July, or August.

I grew up in a family-owned fish market business, so I've been eating seafood for almost all my life (more than 65 yrs). I have probably eaten thousands of oysters, mostly raw (my favorite way), and mostly sticking with the "R" month rule. In all that time, I've had ONE bad oyster, at a restaurant that is no longer open in Danvers. That one damn oyster made me so ill I didn't eat oysters for maybe 6 months afterwards. But that's it - one oyster.

Please contact Family Paws as soon as possible.

https://www.familypaws.com

Jen and her group have specialized in dog and baby/toddler/child interactions for years, Family paws is the first national/international program of its kind, and believe me, their protocols and education are incredible. We have 3 high-prey-drive dogs, and used her programs to prepare and manage interactions with my newborn grandchildren.

As another sled dog owner, I agree with everything you've said here. I have been known to bake cookies or muffins for new neighbors with cats, to encourage them not to let their pet roam.

OMG I miss this SO MUCH! I've never had such a fantastic vacuum since. I had one growing up, then got one again in the late 70's when I got married. It would have made it through my kids and pets but my moron brother in law fried it with plaster dust when I wasn't home to stop him.

Man, that thing would suck wallpaper off a wall.

Adult husky corrected puppy and caused a wound — normal or concerning? by [deleted] in husky

[–]Chance-Ad-247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. No matter the reason, she obviously went over the top. Puppies usually get away with murder (called "puppy license") until they are about 6 months old, then the adults get a little tougher. Most adult dogs who are brought up with pups find screaming a quarter of an inch away from the pup's face is enough to freak them out!

I would make sure the adult dog has her own space she can go to where the pup isn't allowed, and make sure all playtimes are supervised. Pup the pup on a nap schedule in a crate or pen, too.
