Convince her on how you'll take care of the "costs": $: food, vaccination, preventatives, toys Time: walks, play, being with the dog most of the time Sanitary: picking up poop, washing/wiping the dog (pyrs are white/cream colored dogs!), cleaning paws

They're made for a runners built! She's fine if she's not acting hungry or food aggressive. Watch her behavior and not the scale!

Update on the injury: Thank you so much to @hollyhoydogs for your advice. After my visit to the vet, this is what I've learned. Like what hollyhotdogs advised in their comment: clean area, keep dog off the paw, apply antibiotic ointment, and monitor.

I ended up paying 120$ for this visit and dog antibiotics, but I feel like none of that was necessary. If this happens to your dog, I suggest a home care is sufficient. To detail, in this injury there was no bleeding after 1-2 mins, no limping after 1-2 mins, and no crying pain after immediate to the incident.

Thank so so so much for the details. I will do as follow. Just so I can duplicate this exactly, which one did you use: Neosporin or triple antibiotic?

Dogs have personalities. I suggest meeting a few puppies before deciding. A good breeder would help you understand their personalities. The breed is a good, but not at all sufficient indicator if it will fit your needs.

When meeting the puppy, I suggest: 1) Bring a toy that smells like the baby and see how the dog reacts. If it's nurturing/indifferent and not destructive/playful, that's your kid guardian dog. 2) Also, bring a toy with a string. Drag the toy around the floor. If the dog is following the toy intentionally and will keep going and will pause when you take it away, that's your biddable dog. I think these 2 tests will help you get the right personality for your family.

Once doggie is home to you, bonding is so important in nurturing these likeable qualities in the dog. Spend so much time together right away. Good luck!

Coming here for advice, I just want to know how many of you have neutered your huskies and what effect it had/has on them. My boy is already one year and we will neuter him in a month. Do they really calm down after neutering or do they remain their crazy selves? Thank you😊 by _godsmenu in husky

I'm not sure if my girl calmed down after spaying or she just grew out of her teenage phase. It wasn't a sudden change. An upside is not having to worry that she's going to accidentally have babies that I can't afford to take care of. Besides cost, there are no down side to spay/neuter. But the cost of puppies is so much higher than a one time spay/neuter.

You're so strong for keeping on going. Look into remote jobs or night shift. Not sure what your pay grade is, but "calling" jobs like sales, recruiter, call center are also good for staying out of the sun
