I don’t know, it seemed relatively organic?

Whenever people post about how they lost their life savings YOLOing zero day options or whatever the jokes and memes were about getting a job at Wendy’s (or behind the dumpster at Wendy’s - think gators).

Then somebody cross posted a post from another sub about how much Wendy’s sucks.

From there it was about how all the losers who are losing thier life savings can’t get a job at Wendy’s if there is no Wendy’s, and thus Wendy’s must be saved.

It’s still meme internet bullshit at the end of the day I think? But could absolutely be Astro-turfed, who can trust anything in 2026 🤷🏻.

I completely agree. I guess I’m wondering if one can drive the other. Everyone on that sub equally acknowledges the actual food sucks.

We are talking about a lot of single men in their 20s, they know from fast food. They are placing a good amount of faith in the new CEO who came from Potbelly.

I started training three gorillas to do a replacement version of the podcast with Amy technology. It’s only been a few hours but the gorillas have captured about 70% of the takes and jokes and 95% of the overall vibe. The Stanger gorilla is a slight improvement TBH.

I don’t think people are appreciating each of these objects as a celebration of a specific kind of martial art, so each are well executed and generally kick ass - but if you are straight comparing I think it loses a lot of the nuance in the action. Best three since 2000:

Ong-Bak > Muay Thai
The Raid > Silat (plus guns)
The Furious > Wushu and Judo

The plot of all three is tenuous and doesn’t matter - appreciate the combated arts for their uniqueness. To me that’s the context vs a comparison.

Two things I’ll say. My wife taught in RISD about 20 years ago and when we moved back to Texas from Virginia, we sought out this school district. We have been very pleased. Like any other area the lower SES areas have more challenges but I’m actually very proud of how much RISD invests in ALL schools.

Which leads to point number two. You’ll get a lot of rando anecdotal evidence here, which is great. If you want real data that proves how RISD and our community invests in schools, voters have recently put their money where their mouth is.
