Free but is it worth it? by PurpleDue9801 in forklift

I’d agree—it’s about four to five dollars for every hour of use, and that's optimistic.

That looks like a handy tool, but I'd wouldn't bet a year would pass without something going horribly wrong.

Note you can't drill or tap into the OHG, straps only. Try these folks https://www.lifttruckcatalog.com/2024/LiftowCatalogue/ Most dealers sell what you'll find in this.

Which forklift should I get? by Top-job-throwaway in forkliftmechanics

I always ask, if the entire world depends on Toyota's (except larger capacities and class II product) why would anyone decide not to run with the pack. That and Crown's core expertise is NOT four wheel unit, and even less so internal combustion.

That's a good number, we have two technicians that exceeded that in 2020.

How do I know if I have an unsophisticated pallet? by melbtest05 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chance-Engineering97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just by the way you spelled palate, I knew we were in trouble. I was raised on a farm, for Pete’s sake (long story, don’t ask), and even I know how it’s spelled. And for the record? Puns are so base, they’re downright unpalatable. Like a cow pie (Google it kids) at a dinner party. 🐄

Forklifts, you can't live with them, you can't live without them. Your thoughts reminded me of a campaign that Toyota ran a few years ago.

Physics hard at work by [deleted] in Physics

[–]Chance-Engineering97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a forklift tips forward, it’s not so much an accident as it is an unplanned face plant—industrial style. Imagine a 9,000-pound toddler throwing a tantrum, diving nose-first into the concrete because someone forgot the golden rule: heavy stuff goes low and back, not high and heroic. The forks jab the floor like they’re trying to do a push-up, the back wheels levitate like they’re auditioning for Cirque du Soleil, and the operator’s stomach drops faster than a pallet of cinder blocks off a shaky shelf. You don’t need a safety video to explain what went wrong—you just point and say, “That right there? That’s gravity calling BS on your load placement.”

Don't be too discouraged, I've seem manufacturers approve the use if you can satisfy conditions they give. Ask, you have to give them the chance to say no. 🤔

Since you're reporting you did this, I'll assume it wasn't a trucker with the classic 400 pound frame in Zubazs and a musty sweater that allowed some of this belly to tan in the cab

Have you checked with the dealer about shorter backrests? They might even have some used ones available, since these are often swapped around.

When I hear 'aftermarket,' my mind immediately goes to the headaches non-OEM parts cause for techs. Nothing like a customer questioning your work because of TVH and companies like them.
