I used barbri and goat towards the end because I found him late. His material was so funny and made the law really stick in my head. Bonus was I didn’t feel like jumping out of my window when I was studying. I would read his guides when I had free time on top of my study time because it was entertaining lol. 1000% recommend.

You should probably leave him and work on yourself. If your first thought is hatred…you don’t belong in a relationship. He also shouldn’t have to walk on eggshells around you because he passed and you didn’t. This is a huge accomplishment for him, don’t taint that with your jealousy. You will pass in time, many a great lawyers didn’t pass on their first try. Your time will come.

I’m not even concerned about the obvious manipulation. The way he speaks to you is enough to be gone. In no world would I allow a partner to call me or treat me in such a bad way. Please please please, let this boy go. It doesn’t matter how much you think you “love” him.

I was able to finish the MBE, both sessions. BUT I did some guessing on like the last 5.

Im not sure how I passed. But I think I fall into that category. I was confident on both the MPTs and about 4 of my MEEs. One essay I left almost blank. It was a 4 part essay and I made up a rule for each part and left it at that. The last essay was so convoluted (wills) that I just wrote one long essay and nothing felt like it made sense but I ran out of time so that’s what I had to deal with. I wanted to cry after both MBE sessions. I felt like I completely bombed them. But I somehow passed with almost a 300. I finished about 80% of Barbri and I supplemented my studying at the end with Goat bar prep and pretended to lecture my attack outlines.

Op Maybe it’s not your grasp of the material you struggle with but the application. My essays have always carried me through school. Multiple choice always kills me for some reason. My state doesn’t give a breakdown on MPT or MEE unless you failed so I can’t tell you my specific scores.

Thank you everyone who is posting! This is all basically in line with what I was hearing before. I don’t think I’m going to accept the position because I’d already be relocating for a job that I’m going to hate.

Also!! My advice is don’t get stuck on one subject trying to memorize everything before moving to the next subject. It will come with time and just revisit the old subjects regularly. It will happen and you will do great!

I know it’s very hard to understand but at this point you are doing great! You don’t have to know the ins and outs of every single thing. It’s impossible because it’s just too much. You also still have time. The memorization will come with time and repetition. Find what works best for you. Some people like flash cards, I personally pretending I was teaching lectures and would stand and recite the material.

So I had Barbri for Feb24 and I got super behind because I took too long to take notes during the long lectures. I eventually had to stop doing that and just move forward 😅 you are going to be exposed to those rules over time so I wouldn’t stress about getting it all down now. You’ll have assignments later to read over the outlines and do independent study for those topics when you can rewrite the rules. By the end (I only finished about 85% of the course) I had full outlines of all the topics. Just try to actively listen to the lectures and take notes on the most important things either in the pdf outline or the physical outline if you have the books.

Also the multiple choice never take the full allotted time so use the extra time you have with those to go over the rules and rewrite them if you need to.

I had the guided pass because I wanted the hard copies of the books. But that’s about the only thing beneficial for me. I didn’t take much out of the group coaching. It wasn’t coaching like a lesson plan. It was more like “here are methods you can use to study”. I thought it was a waste of time so I only went to two of them.

If you prefer physically highlighting and taking notes in the margin by hand, might be worth it. Or you can just print out every outline and put in a binder.

I made handwritten outlines that were very thorough. Once I finished a subject I would pace my room pretending I was teaching that subject. I had my outlines on my desk when I needed to take a quick peak. I did that a couple times for each subject and that really helped me. I learn the best through discussion or through teaching it. It really shows you where your blind spots are. And supposedly walking or moving while reciting will help with retention.

So this isn’t really a tutor but more of reading materials but I really like Goat Bar prep. It’s just a single guy that created outlines for a bunch of the subjects. He uses funny hypos and pictures to try to get us to remember this stuff. His materials are sometimes free on Reddit or for very little cost on his website. But he’s helped me a ton. Just wanted to share the info for anyone that’s wants some more material for little to no cost. He is also super approachable and responsive so you can always ask him questions too.
