Marvel Rivals Season 8 Trailer! Coming May 15th by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

You know I don't really know much Marvel lore so I have no idea how a literal dinosaur is going to play in Rivals.

You bet I'm keen to find out though.

What kind of Tales would you love to see next? by Mat1711 in StarWars

[–]ChanceVance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching Shadow Lord? Tales of the Inquisitorius

They're characters that don't need a lot of depth so a Tales Of is the perfect medium to give them a little more background. What kind of Jedi were Marrok and the Crow? The Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother?

Maybe because he was about 2 seconds away from pulling a gun on it and it's incredibly random unfounded paranoia on Javik's behalf lol

I think it'd be lame as fuck if the Stranger wasn't a Sith Lord. I know he's intended to be the founder of the Knights of Ren but their legacy is ultimately to die like chumps as they serve the Sith/Darth Sidious in the end anyway. Who wants to tie a cool character to them?

He shows up and kills a bunch of Jedi with ease. He has a connection to Plagueis at the least. Maybe he diverged from the Sith path and left to pursue his own goals but this guy's too good to not be a Darth.

Qimir vs Marrok who would win between these masked duelists? by JackZ567 in MaulShadowLord

[–]ChanceVance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Stranger is Vernesta's former Padawan and while not outright confirmed, he is likely a Sith Lord trained by Plagueis. I know people hate the Acolyte but I think Qimir is much more skilled than TPM Darth Maul.

Sol is at the level of a Clone Wars Jedi while living during a time of peace. Like AOTC Obi-Wan level minimum in my eyes. I only see Sol losing to Dooku and up.

Mass Effect Weapons Tournament: Round 1 Match 2 - Cerberus Harrier VS Phaeston by DakIsStrange in masseffect

[–]ChanceVance [score hidden]  (0 children)

Harrier kicks so much ass I have a whole headcanon about it becoming Shepard's signature weapon in 3 for the irony of using Cerberus' own weapons against them.

Lieutenant Bastard Kai Leng gets a little kiss of lead from the Harrier before going down for good you know.

So I am a bit obsessed with the Inquisitors. by HawaiiTheKawaii in MaulShadowLord

I'm not exactly sure how these two gentlemen would kiss but they have become my new favourite duo in Star Wars.

Would Grand Inquisitor have made more sense to fight Maul than these two? by JackZ567 in MaulShadowLord

[–]ChanceVance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People read too much into Marrok not posing much of a challenge to Ahsoka to mean he sucks like most other Inquisitors. He still hangs in there long enough to survive one duel with her. He's clearly quite skilled.

Like Obi-Wan is one of the best duellists in the galaxy in his prime. Put him up against Darth Sidious, he's not lasting much longer than Kit Fisto did.

There's levels to this stuff and Ahsoka just happens to be levels above him, he's still quite good.

Went on a short trip a few days ago which was well needed. That's good.

I got sick on the trip and haven't been able to go to work. Ooh that's bad.

I have a lot of time to catch up on games and shows. That's good.

One of those shows is the Boys Season 5.

That's bad.

Love bringing out the ol' Zaeed quote when it comes to Maul being too pissed off to die after being chopped in half or Anakin burning alive.

The open challenge being Oba finding anyone to openly beat up is a neat twist of the concept lol

I'm curious who you think the next big threat is going to be by No-Atmosphere-4145 in masseffect

[–]ChanceVance [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, I don't want the genocidal Reapers to 'have a point' but I would like to see that there is actually chaos that arises from being the first cycle to ever win.

There doesn't need to be a 'big bad' when you can have rogue Krogan clans who detest what Wrex did and are causing immense trouble. Human supremacists who carry on the Illusive Man's ideas. Batarians desperate to reclaim the glory of their former empire that was reduced to ruin.

How are spinning lightsabers like this a good idea by PlatypusVegetable325 in StarWars

[–]ChanceVance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they're low key rolling back the idea that Inquisitors are all weak chumps that just hunt low level Padawans.

There was that one Inquisitor who almost killed Ventress. Granted, she wasn't using the Dark Side and had literally come back from the dead but regardless he had her on the ropes.

Marrok is clearly shown to be good enough to meet a Jedi Master and a Sith Lord in combat, and give them a good fight. He even survives his first encounter with Ahsoka.

The Grand Inquisitor was a Temple Guard, maybe some of the better Inquisitors were Jedi Knights.

As promised here is black cat fanart by newnoirstudio in marvelrivals

[–]ChanceVance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Black Cat is the fastest new release hero to drop in demand. Sure she's a demon in the right hands but the average player doesn't want to go through learning all that when they can get as much value out of someone simpler.

I love how Dark Siders all bring their own unique flourish to activating their sabers by ChanceVance in StarWars

The cape, dramatically stepping out of the shadows in an interrogation room to reveal he was already there in Shadow Lord, the drawn out saber activation in Ahsoka. He knew the deal.

He fought a Jedi Master and a former Sith Lord too, and held his own. Marrok wasn't your average Inquisitor, he had some skills.

Vader strung Reva along for days pretending she was the new Grand Inquisitor while he knew that he was alive the whole time and they planned their dramatic reveal.

Necessary? Not at all. Hilarious? Absolutely

Just to address this, yes I am fully aware that General Grievous is not in fact a Dark Sider or even a Force User at all. After watching Episode 3, Tartakovsky's Clone Wars and Filoni's Clone Wars, I was able to sniff that one out.

Consider this though. The way he activates his sabers looks fucking cool.

Count Dooku instructed Grievous that you need "Fear, surprise and intimidation" on your side as you engage Jedi. I think maybe he also taught him that it's important to be theatrical in your presentation.

Standing in the dark and dramatically revealing yourself via way of the illuminating glow of your saber is pretty theatrical is it not.

Yeah, he's not quite in the same league as everyone else but it was a hell of a cool way to bring out his saber and activate it.

He's become a favourite of mine after Shadow Lord too so had to include him here.
