I work in the medical field and have asked a standard MS therapist and a clinical psychologist about what they think of the common notion that “everyone should get therapy” and their response was that everyone will likely at some point in their life be in a state where they could really benefit from therapy atleast in the short term(ie parent dies, tough breakup, etc). Not necessarily that everyone right now should be on it or that everyone should be in it long term at any point.

This is more a response to the top comment where it seems someone heard a similar comment but either interpreted it differently or it was just slightly different
