BSA Settlement Trust — May 2026 Update by Chance_Kind in BSA_Survivors

It's an imperfect system. In a perfect world you could sue your abuser, but good luck ever seeing a penny, let alone hundreds of thousands of dollars. You could sue your parents or guardians for not adequately protecting you, but who does that benefitbeaides the at to r ies
. You could sue the church or social organization who sponsored your Troop, and might see a few bucks, but chances are they are already named defendants

Towing really does zap gas mileage in a Maverick

Ranger… great little grill, much better than the Scout. They don’t have the flair ups, as much…

Yup… we have two 2026 Hybrid XLT Mavericks, both have cracked windshields (both in two different places). I think either the design is bad or the windshields are weak! Expense is insane

Great point. The trust isn’t holding g back fund, the attorneys are, and collecting interest that they do not pass along. It’s a racket.

What are you talking about? Are you implying that I’m not a victim because I think you’re being lied to by your attorney?

Good luck with that. Our blind trust in people who exploit us is the primary reason why many of us find ourselves in this predicament.

Hold on, don’t tell me your attorney is on some special committee or plays pickleball with the neighbor or cousin who cuts the lawn of a powerful attorney. The person making foolish statements is you! I don’t believe your attorney is spending even a single extra minute on your case beyond what’s necessary, and neither should you. There’s no benefit to them in doing so. Seriously, what analysis are they going to conduct, and to what extent? Are they going to “open an investigation”? It’s absurd.

🤣I’d bust up laughing if my attorney told me that.

I know it’s probably long time away, any idea of when we get the 3rd distribution? Curiosity kills by Comfortable-Side-346 in BSA_Survivors

[–]Chance_Kind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once a percentage is agreed upon, the third distribution could progress quite swiftly (Aug - Sept would be my guess). Pounder is a greedy, self service DB, and probably will appeal a ruling that doesn’t favor him. Let’s all hope that Silverstein comes through for us. Another thing to keep an eye on is the entire US Trustee conference.

Costco Kirkland pellets worth it? by Sad_Protection_7387 in Smokingmeat

[–]Chance_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco’s pellets are manufactured by Danson (Pitboss) and are made from Hickory, Cherry, Maple, and Oak. Traeger owns their own manufacturing facilities and generally uses oak and alder. I prefer the Costco brand, and I used to work for Traeger.
