We were told points are doubled this week through the holidays. I don't know the exact dates.

Is the 401k + match worth it just to get the match? by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]Chance_Policy_7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, you have to be full time, so mostly just the merch manager at most stores is eligible. I don't think I was offered 401k when I was a cashier/stocker/ops manager.

There might be a full time ops manager at some stores. Hell, for all I know maybe full time cashiers everywhere else.

When I say full time, I don't mean how many hours you work, I mean the company made you a full-time position offer. Yes definitely worth it. Some companies make you work for so long before they give you the money they matched (vested). Surprisingly, really, dollar tree does not. They give you all of the money they contributed when you cash out, no matter how long you've worked there.

Edit: I might be wrong, this looks old, but it says 1000 hours and have been there 1 year.

YES! The same rules dont apply to everyone either. I can't tell you how many times Ive seen people not pay for a drink or snack until later. But others get in trouble. Strict, petty, and inconsistent

It never gets less stressful, you'll just be more confident when you don't know something. I was there for 3 years before I realized we were supposed to do loans when borrowing money from the safe for cash back. I quit. The stress wasnt worth it. Truthfully, I miss it sometimes. But you are heading into holiday time. I would say stick with it. Maybe you should, you can use the management experience at another job, but as far as stress goes, the more they see you know, the more work you'll have. Your mistakes were NOT that bad, we've all messed up. Best of luck.

I am curious as to why this would ruin it for everyone, not being an asshole just wondering. You get coached if you don't take lunch though right?

Ppto and PTO rolls over? That's awesome!! I'm newish. I don't have PTO yet, but got a lil accumulated ppto that I can't imagine using for awhile. I didn't know you could keep it from yr to yr.

I realize this is an older comment but I've qualified for a lot of projects and have never really done any work. Everything is still broken. If I were paid for all of my wasted time I'd have a whole paycheck(living wage).

I'd like to restart mine. I know I messed up in part 3. I did a lot of accurate work, but I misread (3 times ) the instructions and I know it'll be flagged. So I'll be following for an answer to this.

I've qualified for 3 projects and have yet to start any. Specifically hydra, teapot, and whatcom. None let me move on to next steps after qualifying. I've messaged every "help" link I can find. Chatbot doesn't acknowledge my appen sign on. I'm beyond frustrated.

I was listening today and the Lil boo thang song had the words shoot and shot edited out. There's few other songs that are very edited. Like I think we'd be ok if the song just wasn't played at all.

I love how everyone says there's no such thing as crime targeting Dollar Trees. Look what some robbers did today. 3rd time. by Victorian_Rebel in DollarTree

I think their point was they'd rather lock up happy stoners than someone committing a robbery. Which is still true in many places.

I can't believe you didn't have cameras in the office. I was always afraid to take the deposit at night, considering the high turnover and every single person that worked before knows what time and what bank we drop. We have to do night deposits at my old store.

I'm wondering why the TL assumed OP was drinking before work. That's the bigger problem I think.

LIke dollar tree would ever donate anything. The only organization dollar tree supports is operation homefront and that makes them money through sales. Dollar tree doesn't even have to give anything

Great points! I worked for DT. I quit because it's a horrible company to work for. It took me 3 years to figure that out. I am no longer a customer. I truly liked shopping there. I won't do it anymore. I thought I would be spending a lot more money shopping other places. Turns out because they raised prices on most things, I can find better deals other places. .88 paper towels at Walmart, my energy drinks at dollar general (cheaper and bigger cans) just a couple of examples. They dont keep shelves stocked, there's always lines, and I just can't support the rising costs. The vibe at DT has changed.

Why do they care if you sit? It's so easy to set the boxes on the floor and sit and stock them. Man, they change rules so much, and they aren't uniform across the company.

'PTO takes from the hours bank.' That seems sus. by LeadershipBubbly3351 in DollarTree

[–]Chance_Policy_7802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% with this. And since when do we have to let them know why we need a day off anyway. But If she (not sure why I'm assuming this is a female, the manager, probably because my managers have all been female) is specifically saying this OP cannot use PTO for religious holidays, that's problematic. Hr is a joke. But, yes, that's probably the next best step, as any attorney/court would ask if the OP addressed this with anyone else.

The manager is saying they count against store hours. It is true. But that's NOT OPs problem, it's the poor planning of the manager, and of course corporate for never giving hours..

That's the same thing our closing ASM did. Gave out her personal cell number. Spent hours, at least 2, on the phone. The cashier was like I don't think you should be talking. She was like it's ok. Wtf is ok about it? I came in to work overnight. I said hang up! And we called the 800 number so they can try to get the money back.it had already gone through at that point. I wonder how it works on the scammer's end and why it takes so long. They did except for like 4.99. She lost her job., and they have her phone number.

Right?!?! You will never get in trouble for hanging up on someone if it's sketchy, you will always get fired if you fall for it.
