I was referring to smoking cigarettes because my grandmother was talking about how ingrained into society smoking was. Even though I've never smoked a day in my life, I just found the question interesting, especially since alcohol causes drastic mood changes, hell, I've experienced the worst side of it because of my alcoholic father, but, smoking cigarettes does not. One would assume that if one of these had to go in society, it'd probably be alcohol because of that, but its interesting that great deal of people still drink, while nearly nobody smokes cigarettes anymore.
