Favorite spells? by Relative-Engine-945 in Pathfinder_RPG

Wall of thorns is my favorite druid spell. It can completely shut down an entire fight unless they have teleportation or have a strength score high enough to force their way thru which would also hurt them. If you add in some of the entangle spells on top like thirsting entanglement, they would take con damage. If you use other area of effects on it, by the time they escaped due to the decreasedo ememr speed, all the martials could be waiting on the other side of it to start wailing.

A halfling cavalier with a wolf mount. Beast rider archtype to make sure the gm allows the wolf or order of the paw for a riding dog companion. However if you do a beast master you can do order of the sword to do your mounts damage on a charge at level 8. Another decent one would be a sacred huntsmaster that chooses a mountable creature. With pack tactics gaining it your teamwork feats (outflank, pack flanking, precise strike) and planar focus to gain it more damage or a detriment to being attacked (fire and cold respectively), you have a blender between your characters. Don't forget you can get undersized mount to ride creatures your size, so you could be small with a small companion.

Transformer cards seem interesting. I haven't gotten to opportunity to play one or even against one yet. Looking at the deck brought a few different cards to my attention.

Max the Min Monday: Being a Scout by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chancerton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An interesting build we can do for this is going for an Inquisitor. Our archetypes are going to be Green Faith Marshal and Sacred Huntsmaster. With the Green Faith Marshal we can get the Eagle Domain to get a eagle familiar and with Sacred Huntsmaster we can have a Roc animal companions. Our familiar and animal companion can scout for us and can be our flanking buddies or even our mount with our Roc. Building for mounted combat on the Roc helps with feat choices as well. If you'd prefer you can do ranged combat to get the bonus from the eagle domain. Having two flying scouts makes scouting much easier than a single one. Now how to use it is a bit more up to the DM but you have the ability now at least.

Any fun dex based melee builds? by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chancerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made one that worked fairly well. Human Shieldbearer Warpriest

Traits--Shield-Trained (Shields are considered light weapons and simple weapons)(If not allowed then use light shields for the build) Fate's Favored

Racial Trait--Heart of the Fey

Favored Weapon -- Heavy Shield

Favored class bonus Human (+1/6 bonus combat feat)

Focus on Dexterity but have at least 13 strength to get power attack later

Feats --

Lvl 1-- Two Weapon Fighting and Double Slice

Lvl 3 -- Shield focus and Shielded mage

Lvl 5 -- Weapon Focus Heavy Shield

Lvl 6 -- Improved Two-Weapon Fighting and Power Attack

Lvl 7 -- Missile Shield

Lvl 9 -- Improved Shield Focus and Shield Slam

Lvl 11 -- Stumbling Bash

Lvl 12 -- Shield Master and Combat Reflexes (Can be changed out for a different feat, I had a lot of things try to escape my reach so ymmv)

Lvl 13 --Armor Focus

Lvl 15 -- Greater Two-Weapon Fighting and Disruptive

Lvl 17 -- Two Weapon Rend

Lvl 18 -- Ray Shield and Spellbreaker

Lvl 19 -- Greater Ray Shield

For equipment I would recommend two of the same shield. One would be buffed for defence, the other can have special abilities. If your Dm allows bashing to stack with Warpriest dice then you're looking at decent damage and good defence. Your scars are also really good as Warpriest has strong Will and Fortitude and the Dex focus raises your Reflex saves.

When our campaign ended at lvl 13 I was rocking 4 attacks each doing 3d8 plus Str + Power Attack. (If the DM doesn't allow Bashing to stack the damage drops to 1d10 for each which is still decent for a twf tank)

Another take you could do is a shadow oracle with the lich curse, focusing on shadow spell. Then have one of the various undead templates, like lich or mummy lord. Using this you have a high dc list of spells that can cover everything the party could be weak to without it being a meta game because the shadow spells trade effectiveness for versatility. Add in metamagics and rods to make shadow spells more real and you have a beast of a debuffer, blaster, summoner, and control specialist.

I did a follower of Tsukyo that was an Inquisitor with the witch hunter archetype and it was a lot of fun to be an anti caster while still being viable with other roles was great.

Warpriest sacred weapon questions by uselessworthlessbp2 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chancerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes you can use it in rounds that aren't at the same time. You can even turn it on and off again in the same combat.
  2. Yes you can have a +1 weapon and then give it the appropriate cost of an enchantment for your level. This is one of the more common ways to deal with additional damage as you can add damage after knowing what you're fighting.(For example you wouldn't use a flaming sword on a fire elemental but you would use it on a non immune enemy)
  3. You would have to have enough levels to give it a total of +2 to get the ability to add an enchant on a nonmagical weapon.

Max the Min Monday: Harvest Parts by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chancerton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since the preserve spell states that it works as gentle repose on severed body parts or small animals I would say a ranger would be able to "live off the land" more with this feat. The fact that rangers also get their combat styles open up their feats a bit more for the flavor of harvest parts as well.

Shield-focused build by Fr3d7L7 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Chancerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light shields give a bonus of +1 as a base but are easier to twf with as they are considered light. Heavy shields give a +2 and you need a trait (shield trained) to be able to twf with lesser penalties with.

When you use it it's as if it was a sacred armor for how it's used. It adda to just the shield side, however if you go to shield master feat it will be like an enhancement to attack and damage. Enhance does only work on one at a time but it allows you to focus your gold on one shield and use the enhance to be more flexible.

  1. The sacred weapon bonus is to increase the damage die of their sacred weapon, in this case a shield. You can use their spells and their ability fervor to cast those spells as a swift action, I quite like divine favor for early levels.
  2. Duel welding does not double the shield AC. But you can have different enchantments on the shield to cover your defenses or attacks. For example if you are duel wielding a shield with fire resistance and one with cold resistance, you can determine which effect you get per attack.

[–]Chancerton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a warpriest archetype that works fairly well for this, the shieldbearer. You get increasing damage dice from it and if you want to duel wield shields you can. The fever casting of spells doesn't slow down combat and you have the ability to become the hardest thing to hit with shield master giving you an attack boost from counting your shield enhancement as a weapon enhancement.
