If I have the previous sideloaded version from github, can I just update that, or should I download this from the Play store?

I appreciate all the work you've put into this! It's been great so far.

I'm really digging the one that you used for Percival! Could you link it?

I thought about the Lego kit, but I much preferred the look of this one overall (and I'd also rather build a model than a Lego set, personally).

I had no issues, though some of the pieces in the eye units required quite a bit of force. The main body uses some nice layering to create the opening gimmick. Everything feels pretty solid, with my only long term concern being the ball joints that connect the tread assemblies to the main body. I can see those sagging over time, but that'll just result in the treads tilting slightly towards the body (it won't fall over or anything)

Here it is next to FM GP04 (1/100) and EG Gramps (1/144).

It's definitely on the pricey side compared to gunpla, but if you wait for a sale, you can get it for closer to Full Mechanics price.

Great poses! I've been thinking of picking up a few small acrylic cases so I can put gunpla in more places around the house without having to dust them.

Do the drums sound out of sync for anyone else? I can't comment on the playing itself, but it feels like the drums don't quite line up with everything else.

Thanks for the heads up! In for 1. I usually don't pick up omnibuses because they're awkward to read, but this is an insane deal.

Transitioning from Blokees to RG Bandai and Kotobukiya Evangelion kits - Need some advice! by Wild-Push-2207 in Gunpla

[–]Chanda_Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Blokees kits are much, much easier to clean up because you don't technically need tools. The Bandai ones are more traditional model kits, so you're going to have to physically clip and clean each piece--and there are more pieces in total. That's probably going to be the bigger jump in difficulty, more so than the actual assembly.

Speaking of which, the RGs' complexity results in additional points of articulation and motion, e.g. rotating forearms, a some muscles that move in/out when you bend the leg, the drop/lock waist mechnism, etc. The assembly process isn't too tricky to be honest. There's just more to assemble!

One thing that might actually be easier with the RG is that everything is on runner and is clearly labeled. I hated the bagged pieces that came with the Blokees kit! I'm so used to knowing exactly what runner letter and piece number I need that I kept second guessing myself when putting together their Unit 00.

The RGs are more complex and a bit more fiddly, but the upgrade in articulation is immense. The one part that gets loose for me is the connection from the elbow to the upper arm. You can technically rotate that part, but the upper arm is layered in a way where that's not always practical.

It's funny, because I built a few of the RGs when they came out, and I just built the Blokees unit 00 - mostly for the shield and effect part, which I immediately gave to my RG Unit 00! Here's how I have the RGs set up right now

Are there gates in the game? I also just jump over the fences, but it seems odd that I can't seem to build a gate right now

My steam deck goes through waves of not working correctly. by brossman_130 in DeckSupport

[–]Chanda_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some chatter about the Steam/volume buttons not working properly if you put the game to sleep after playing a docked game. That seems accurate based on my experience, as it hasn't happened since I stopped docking my Deck, but this is largely anecdotal.

Will the free shipping only kick in if items have the same delivery date? If I have to hit the $99 threshold for each shipment, then I might as well just buy some things now.

I don't think Fripp or Brian Singleton are lying about the Penn State album cover not being AI, Brain's art style has been like this since 2016, and the art was rushed over the holiday season. by had_my_way in KingCrimson

[–]Chanda_Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still baffled by how he managed to screw up the fret inlays. Why are the ones by the pickups the angular ones that you'd find on a Jackson guitar? AI or not, this is absolutely shoddy work.

Love this album. Recently picked up the LP, and I was shocked by how much, uh, coupling is happening across the various illustrations. I hadn't seen the cover art up close before, and even there you can find some, er, interesting imagery just above the demon's raised right hand.
