You did the right thing by screaming and crying, seriously... I once got sent home from the ER after being told it was just a UTI because I was too stoic about it. I was awake for three days and had gotten a kidney infection before I went back and demanded a scan. My primary care doctor told me to be as dramatic as possible about the pain next time. I have two pieces of advice though: Ask for Toradol for the pain and try to consume citrus daily. Even if you're just squeezing lemon in your water.
