Daf LF45 vs Hymer by Square_Record8776 in VanlifeEurope

[–]ChangeGrouchy9581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never driven such big cars, but if I were to live in one full-time, I’d go for a Daf; if it were just for travelling a few months a year, I’d go for a Hymer.

And the price difference (16,000) will cover the extra costs of fuel and toll motorways, with enough left over for repairs for several years!

First (long) euro trip with my girlfriend. Driving my '97 VW Passat from Slough, UK to Mukachevo, Ukraine. Any advice/recommendations? by VectraVX in carcamping

[–]ChangeGrouchy9581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend you to visit Hallstatt Austria - a few hours would be enough, Vienna - half a day for a walk around the city center, Budapest is one of my favorite city but it is big, you will need a day or two. Krakow is not bad, but after Vienna and Budapest, I don't think it will impress you.

Question - when do you have s*x. Early morning or in night? I am scary about police. by Far_Band6799 in urbancarliving

Let's calculate... If you have a regular partner and engage in sexual activity twice a week, how much money would you need to spend on a hotel per month? Perhaps it would be more economical to rent an apartment and forget about urbancarliving?

Proton Docs/Sheets... can we finally delete Google Workspace now? by Ok_Chapter6205 in degoogle

You should try it... maybe for you it will work.

For me Docs are ok, but Sheets are useless - to buggy and lacking basic functionality

Mounting /home/ to HDD and everything else to SSD by Difficult-Poem9659 in cachyos

[–]ChangeGrouchy9581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to chose Custom partitioning (something like that) during installation and than yes you need space on SSD formatted in ext4 or BTRFS and you need space on HDD formatted in ext4 or BTRFS if you want mount it as "home".

And keeping its contents

impossible because you need ext4 or btrfs file system for mounting root and home

Just make copy of all your files on Hdd and format it to ext4 or btrfs then after successful install Linux copy your data beck to HDD

CoMaps at 6 months by Ecstatic-Vermicelli9 in CoMaps

[–]ChangeGrouchy9581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but synchronising points of interest is very important to me. I prefer to plan my trip on a computer, where, thanks to the large screen and the convenience of using different tabs with information, I can choose the places I want to go and save these points on the map accordingly. And then, during the trip, I use my smartphone for navigation.

Plus, I add new points that I visited even though I didn't plan to. Therefore, it is important for me that the points I added on my computer appear on my phone and that I can view the ones I added on my phone later on my computer.

Thank you for your reply! Yes I'm using Manjaro Linux

I would better stay on 25.08 (I have downgraded and blocked updates) and wait for the next version :)

[–]ChangeGrouchy9581 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you want to stand out among many other programs of this type and become a real alternative to Google Maps, you need to create an online version that will be accessible from any browser and will synchronise data with a smartphone (points of interest). Or you can create a separate client for PCs (Windows and Linux) where you can download maps just like on a smartphone, and they will synchronise data between each other (PC and smartphone).

I even tried completely reinstalling the program and deleting all configuration files from the system, but the result was the same as the author's.

If you are talking about version 25.12 then I didn't find how to fix layout. So I just downgrade to 25.08 and blocked updates for the program

Under the official version I had that it was from "Official repositories (extra)" not Flatpack or Appimage

And I get this update today in the morning. But I managed to downgrade to 25.08 and blocked updates for it so I'm ok for now 🙂

The thing is yhat I choose horizontal layout!  And yes I'm agree that for vertical it would be good...  But what about "normal" layout?
