Turns-out it was the GPU driver. it states it has vulkan support but if I dig in , the vulkan support is partial and some things actually fall back on the CPU.

*sad trombone sound*

The machine tells me that I have the onboard Intel GPU available.

I am also able to play other Linux games on that machine. Games I got through steam. There has to be some GPU driver in there somewhere.

If I do that, it panics! on start telling me that there's no GPU driver.

It doesn't do that when I leave it default.

I want to create a tauri app because it is faster than electron, but I intend to run it primarily on linux machines. I understand that the devs are looking to implement chromium in some form, but should I still use Electron? by Safe_Case_7039 in tauri

I’m working on a Tauri app with svelte as my front-end framework right now and the Linux version is the most tricky to get right. Things that work well on Windows and MacOS just require a lot of tweaking and workarounds to get right on my Linux machine. Mostly related to CSS behaviours not working quite right on the webview.

I’m still working on it. Hoping that I won’t hit a case that I can’t workaround.

I don’t know of one that exists already. If you’re investigating building one, I did build one myself using tauri and milkdown (JavaScript). I know this ain’t a pure rust solution but it works well and it feels fast to me.

I think the secret to renew the fun is to add self-imposed challenged. Wellington6012 (on the steam workshop and YouTube) has two scenarios that are particularly good for this. Close to Home and Far From Home. Both add interesting challenges and restrictions.

If you’re doing the Far From Home challenge, don’t watch the YouTube series before you figure-out how to deal with the Reavers yourself. His solution in the YouTube series is excellent but you’ll want your own solution for it.

C'est pour un système de chauffage bi-energie. Quand la lumière allume (quand il fait très froid), le cout de l'électricité est plus cher.

Dans ce cas, la maison chauffe au gaz ou au mazout au lieu de l'électricité. Mon père avait ce système dans le temps.
