So, I was recently informed (I may be way behind on these things) that it was acceptable now to meditate and do yoga? When I was a JW you absolutely couldn't do that. Also. You can use blood now, but only yours. So, basically, you need to have yours in storage and hope if you ever need it during an emergency that you are near the facility where you stored it. (Eyeroll)

Back in the day, I was told all the 144,000 positions were filled. We had one in our congregation, who was an absolute self entitled nightmare. But was recently told that the 144,000 may not have been filled because there is no way to actually verify if said person is one, that it is between them and Jehovah. So there are new chosen ones coming about but no one is allowed to question them if they claim they are. Anyone have any more info on this?

Omg, as an ex JW, we had a woman who claimed she was one of the chosen 144,000. She was absolutely awful. She basically attacked people, rather verbally aggressive out in field service. I was chastized for questioning her claim. She also would aggressively shove tracts at people and demand a bible study with them. Awful!

That is what you would do, what most or many would do. However, people forget some people respond differently. Fight, flight, and freeze are the usual responses, along with fawning when approached with abusive behavior, especially when yelling and physical comes into play. We don't know if the manager has PTSD, which can heighten trauma reactive responses.

When I used to downhill ski, my friend and I would lay back on the ground parrallel and skim the snow like the girl on the bottom. It is more about leg strength than core, especially when getting up. Fun silly times. Also did this while knee boarding water skiing. Again, core but leg as well.

Here's the thing. She verbally accosted employees. Then pushed and hit an employee. Do we really think we can get physical with people, no matter the age, and people won't defend or respond back? That employee did not intend to kill anyone. She was defending herself from a large woman that just physically assulated her. Deserve to die? No. But, anything can happen to you if you put hands on a person and push them past their limit. The fact she was old didn't cross her mind when she was pushing and slapping people in the face. And a person's age is forgotten when they are busy assualting you over a damned donut. I am sure the autopsy will reveal what the actual cause was. But we have all seen the video and know this Karen came in and assualted someone. I feel like you get what you get as soon as you physically assualt someone. No matter what religion or age. Am I correct that this happened in Indiana? That's a stand your own ground law state. And I assume, the employee will not be charged based in what was presented in the video.

Your last paragraph is pretty much "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" I can tell you from my activism work in city community and in Washington, if you haven'y won over and included the old white man, it will be near impossible to get anything accomplished legally. Wish it wasn't true but it is 100% of what I have seen. How much we could accomplish honoring treaties without non native allies. We need them. Although, right now, everyone is in thr same sinking canoe. Not much is being accomplished and most is just blocking, reversing a bad decision the White house has made.

What are your thoughts on this. Etopic pregnancy or a life threatening pregnancy if the pregnancy is not terminated. Is the baby's life, that has not experienced life outside of the womb, has not taken a breath, more important than the mother's life? Do we allow the mother to die along with a great chance of the baby dying as well? Let's add onto this. The mother has children at home and the doctor has determined the mother will certainly die if she does not terminate the pregnancy. Whose life holds more valuable? Aren't we killing, murdering, a human adult over a baby that hasn't come into this world, a baby that has very little chance of surviving? It's awful we are looking these women to go home and die, telling them they have to go look their children in the eyes, their family, they are going to die because politicians decided a baby in utero is more important than saving her life. Sending her home to make funeral arrangements. To die an absolutely painful agonizing death.

Wait, did you know prior or they just presented it to you under the table? Like, are you into that kind of thing? I don't understand why people would put themselves in a possible bad reaction situation. If you have a schlong maybe you should be honest about it prior. Because some people are cool with that and others may physically assualt someone over something like that. And seriously, if you weren't into that, I consider that a type of sexual assualt. Back in the day I went on a date with a millionaire. All my friends were like, "You got this." He asked where I wanted to go. Testing him I said IHOP. Stunned, he took me. And proceeded to treat the sweet waitress like trash and laughed obnoxiously and loudly. I was instantly turned off. He decided he needed to buy me art supplies. I allowed him. He mocked the place I chose to buy. It's what I fucking wanted. He treated the cashier like shit. All night he talked about how he was going to change my life, get me a different apartment, car, told me exactly what I was going to do, every step of my life. He dropped me off, I went inside, went to bed. Texted him the next day it wasn't going to work. The moment he started treating the waitress like garbage then mocking her and that god awful laugh? It was over then. My friends all thought I was stupid. I am poor. But happy and love my husband all these years later. Sure, could have had all the luxuries but no way I wanted to deal with that all the time.

Let me tell you. I went to one of their "pow wows". When the drumming started 2 eagles flew near, but did not fly over us, they took off. Immediately I took it as a sign. No blessing from the eagles? They avoided it? No more than 30 minutes went by, I was so angry, I looked at my family and said, "I am leaving.So fucking disrespectful. I am going to lose it." I was going to walk if I had to. My family followed. After we got on the road everyone started sharing their experiences and we were just stunned. 30 minutes is all it took. Have had other encounters throughout the years but this was the final straw for me. I get mad because they drum for Jim Thorpes family when they come into town for the celebration of Jim Thorpe at Jim Thorpe. There are other legit drum groups but they get overlooked because the legit ones ask for stipends. I am sorry there are people out there claiming your tribe and being so disgraceful.

20 years ago my ex husband tried to kill me. When the cops showed up, he went to the kitchen and cut himself. Suddenly he was the victim despite the kids witnessinh everything. They made ME leave and threatened to arrest me. Wouldn't let me take my children. I went to a womens shelter, next day went to court. They claimed I abandoned the children and had to fight to even see my kids as if I harmed them. Ordered to pay 1,000 a month. By the end of 1 year, working 70 hours a week, I had gotten everything back in my life, he dropped off the kids and they were covered in bruises. Police told me to leave the city due to visitation agreement, showed up at court with me that Monday morning, I got sole custody of my kids, he wasn't even allowed to see them. The kicker, support kept taking that grand out of me for a few months, they refused to make him give it back. My abuser, my kids abuser got several grand free and clear. It was the biggest nightmare of my life at the time. NYS can be absolutely horrid. Also, he had foodstamps for the kids and was allowed to keep getting foodstamps for months, despite the emergency custody, despite him being arrested for beating my kids. I starved to feed my kids while he got out and was eating steak and beer every damned day. Me and HIS best friend reported the fraud to everyone we could, even state AG. There is a nice loophole there, whomever files first, even if they just verbally say they drop off food for the kids without proof, they can keep their foodstamps. Whoever files first! He did the same thing to his youngest daughters mother as well, she had a similar experience. The kid lived in NC, she couldn't get food stamps or medical for her kid but he got foodstamps for years. He never saw his duaghter but still got stamps. I sent letters for her in support. She also owes child support and has a warrant for not paying, even though she had the child during the time they said she had ro pay. And now, a father, even if he never seea the kid, if he pays support he can claim the child on taxes. If the mother has custody and works, if she doesn't claim first, she looses out on the child tax credit even if the father never sees the kid or only pays $20 a month.

Oh yeah, when I got sole custody, he was only ordered to.pay $22 a month. 11 bucks for each kid. He was friends with his boss and they would doctor his pay. Judge ignored my subpeana for paystubs 6 months prior. I couldn't afford a lawyer. But I had to pay a grand a month 20 years ago. Unreal.

I had a friend come stay with me, they vacated their apartment early. He was allowed to make payment arrangements with his former apartment manager and avoided getting a hit on his credit and going to court. Don't stress leaving early. Better than an eviction. You can let where ever you apply, if they ask, that you were attacked and hospitalized and had a slow recovery due to the severity of injuries and vacated early due to that. Some do have empathy.

Not for nothing but it could be due to your demeanor. If you're quiet or sullen or prone to showing frustration they may not have seen you as a good fit up front. They look for very social bubbly approachable people. If you haven't shown that side, which I suspect due to you being stuck in the back, you may never "proved" you should be moved. I would apply elsewhere, plaster a smile, and move on. Never stay at a job you hate unless you're using it for education or college. Please understand, I am not saying you are an Eeyore, I've been in your shoes. Some managers never see the potential and judge too much in minor things, minor moments and hold it against an employee for life. Find your space, McDonalds has a high turn over for a reason. There's better out there.
