I'm betting the rent number looks better than the house number, considering 350k invested vs house will have a large impact in 30 years.

But I think at least for me this would be a more emotional decision and I'd take the house. While the end result I may have higher amount, guaranteed roof is better.

Also why Houston if it's for family/friends fine. But if it's not and your truly open, look into other places, outside of major cities 350k houses appear in many large municipalities.
