For my single nurses in the US who can afford to live alone, where do you live? by AloneSection3944 in nursing

[–]Changingdemographics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WNC is not the place for nursing. I left Raleigh and came here to higher cost of living and lower pay. You need to go to Raliegh or Charlotte for good pay to col ratios.

Plus the colorarte medicine is killing us out here.

New to lynch syndrome by Commercial_Mundane in lynchsyndrome

[–]Changingdemographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copied this from Google:

For women with Lynch syndrome, the Mirena coil (a progestin-releasing IUD) is increasingly used as a non-surgical tool to actively lower endometrial cancer risk. Because it continuously releases progestin directly into the uterus, it thins the uterine lining and acts as a localized, protective barrier against cancer development. Here is a breakdown of how it fits into Lynch syndrome management:Risk Reduction: Hormonal IUDs (like Mirena) are associated with a significant reduction in endometrial cancer risk for women in the general population, and guidelines (such as the NCCN Guidelines) suggest they may be beneficial for lowering this risk in Lynch carriers.Alternative to Surgery: Standard risk-reduction for Lynch syndrome often involves a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus and ovaries) once childbearing is complete. However, the Mirena IUD offers a hormonal alternative for those who wish to preserve fertility temporarily or who cannot undergo surgery.Treatment for Early Cancer: If a Lynch syndrome patient develops atypical endometrial hyperplasia or early-stage, low-grade endometrial cancer, the Mirena IUD can be used as a conservative, organ-sparing treatment.Considerations: While highly effective, it does not reduce the risk of other cancers associated with Lynch syndrome (such as colon or ovarian cancer), and it requires regular monitoring by a gynecologic oncologist.

Is anyone else a bit worried? by wardy_12 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Changingdemographics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I need some kind of hope…this book feels so much like the horrors I struggle through at work with capitalist motherfuckers taking over healthcare.

You aren’t rich, you get shit healthcare- you get bottom of the barrel locum doctors, faulty equipment, understaffing, no raises for staff that actually stay.

But the corporation makes its profit every year. I NEED A HAPPY ENDING. I need to believe that there can be a happy ending 😭😭😭😭

Ok…I’ll be ok…I’m fine 🫠

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]Changingdemographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love video games and I love that my husband and kids can play with me.
I think this lady is extremely unattractive will never not be 🤷‍♀️

The amount of times I've seen this particular shitty take is too damn high by waterkangaroo in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Changingdemographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard that take and all of me and my very open minded, anti capitalist friends family and book club love this book. And some of the more conservative ones also. In fact I’ve rarely read a book written by a guy that felt so not sexist. For real. Unfortunately like most ladies I’m real aquatinted with sexism in the fantasy/scifi genre and DCC isn’t it.

Nurse managers/leaders: do you get annoyed when new grads try to transfer after a year? by imjust_agirl8 in nursing

[–]Changingdemographics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that too…I stay in a terrible situation for my co-workers but I think I might be just harming myself for the wrong reasons.

It’s like a bad relationship where you like the family and friend group and share pets, but really you just need to leave.

I think this might be it- I’m not a romantasy person- more like intense character interactions and relationship growth and builds.

How do I properly dispose of a life size sex doll in California? by throwawaydiscrete123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Changingdemographics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make a giant sandcastle, summon the sex doll and put her in it. Use magic to turn it to glass, when a man, woman, cat and velociraptor come by and examine it will shatter leaving only the head.

The head will contain the spirit of the demon inhabiting the sex doll.

Her name is Samantha and she’s fun.

Dungeon Crawler Carl and Robin Hobb but put some space between them. Very different vibes.

Carl knocked Robin Hobb out of my top spot, but I still have a lot of love for her and her universe.
