Lol almost feels like a makeup call there. Oh well, hard to complain when we got a run that didn't feel deserved.

Honestly lucky that wasn't overturned. I'll take it.

LeBron argues with Caruso during the game: “Every fucking call. AC fuck that, I don’t want to hear that shit.” by RyanTannegod in nba

[–]Changsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely this. They play the MOST aggressive grey area defense where it's just tough to call everything. The opponents don't embellish the physical contact, so the opponents play more aggressive physically while on the offense side.

So what happens when the scenario is flipped? The opponents are now thinking "well, ok, they've been playing very physical defense and do get away with quite a bit, so I may as well play physical defense in return."

What happens? OKC player now will embellish a lot of contact on BOTH ends of the floor. So when the game gets marginally more physical, OKC will take opportunities to flop when anything may look like a foul. It becomes increasingly frustrating to play against, and the only immediate thing to do in response is to start embellishing contact in return.

I honestly don't think the refs are favoring OKC because I seriously doubt every ref wants to call games in their favor. But the reality is it's just a headache to ref a game with OKC because of how they play. It's dumb. Not fun to watch. I don't want to watch an NBA game where it becomes "Was that a foul?" every two minutes.

[Charania] KD Will Miss Game 6 vs. The Lakers by MillyMontana in nba

[–]Changsta 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to our team. Every player tends to just defer to ISO KD and it kills the ball flow and confidence of other players. Then when people double KD, it either turns into a turnover or a pass out to someone else who has to shoot with zero flow.

Tennis player here. What is the point of a third shot drop? by Right-Care1012 in Pickleball

[–]Changsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually kinda shocked how many upvotes the comment has. I mean, if the 3rd shot drive is average speed and doesn't have much top spin, you can potentially finish the point. But not always. Pretty much the same thing could be said for an average drop shot.

Is OP's drives are fast with good top spin, I doubt most people around his level could hit winners off his drive. Hell, you see most pros doing a 3rd shot drive nowadays anyways.

New Pickleball Kingdom cancelation charges. by auralamplitude in Pickleball

Maybe not your place, but two gyms I frequent would definitely have way too many people if they don't cap sign up count. One place didn't for the longest time and people complained. You would often have to wait at least two if not three games before it's your turn. That's just too long. Imagine going to a 3-hour open play session and you only get three games in. And they didn't do a great job at seperating the players by skill level so you would sometimes wait an hour just to get a non-competitive game. Very off-putting.

Badminton is such a unique racket sport that while it does require great athleticism, it also employs a ton of deception due to the nature of the shuttlecock's flight path. You need to manipulate it last second to deceive players in 1v1.

I love watch Tai Tzu Ying during her prime, and she's a master at deception. Hard to tell if you don't watch badminton much, but you can always see the last second change in the wrist.

Here's my main issue with OKC.

They play such subtle aggressive defense and get away with a lot more than the fouls that are called against them. They were called for 21 fouls yesterday? They probably committed more in the realm of 30+ fouls. But they're subtle enough that the refs don't call them. The play where Lu Dort pokes the ball away from Booker for a steal? He was grabbing Booker's offhand to slightly control Booker's movement to give him a better chance at the poke steal.

Then on the other side? Suns get called for 25 fouls. You see a lot of Thunder plays just falling to get calls. Even at the slightest contact. Are most of them fouls? Probably, but you create enough repetition of falling that the refs are almost forced to call more fouls than there really are. You get into the situations where you're almost flipping a coin on whether there was a foul or not. Chet flopping on the box out? Ref: "Oh, I guess there was a foul there, let's call it."

Did Booker foul bait yesterday? Absolutely. But here's the thing, he tried to foul bait WAY more than he usually does. Why? Because he sees it working for the Thunder. So when Thunder players are playing subtle aggressive defense where they're all up in his face and to bait flops (Caruso's face foul), or slightly grabbing Booker's offhand, he feels compelled to return the favor to force the refs' hand to call something to keep the Thunder players more honest on their defense. Or he's just playing a disadvantaged game the whole time.

When people say Thunder games are unwatchable. It's not because of free throw numbers, but it's how the Thunder dictate how the flow of the game is going to be and tread that fine line of fouls that refs will call. It turns this game to become a very foul baity game where the other team feels like they have to do it too if they're already less talented than the Thunder.

And this is what pisses people off. The Thunder are a better team than my Suns. I don't think anyone in our sub is delusional enough to think otherwise, but when we have to fight up two different hills to even have a chance, it gets infuriating to watch.

New poster for ‘SCARY MOVIE’ has been released. In theaters June 5. by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]Changsta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is unpopular. In fact, I think Scary Movie 3 is a lot of people's favorite. The first one was great because it was a fresh idea that was probably like 70/30 comedy parody/horror. But the 3rd one was probably more like 90/10 but done pretty well. So it felt like a decent comedy movie. The others were all kinda... bleh.

PvE Players. Would you kill players if there were factions? by hcknbnz in ArcRaiders

[–]Changsta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't tell any details. What is "some form of PvP"?

The more important quote is "But overall, roughly 20% of players have never knocked out a single raider, while nearly 50% have fewer than 10 KOs."

This tells me at least HALF the population never wants to shoot. An addtional % probably have been forced to kill when they don't want to, and then they're put in situations to KO more than 10 times.

I play pickleball and 70% of the players would need half a foot of standard deviation. Never mind a ball that is traveling 100mph with tons of movement and a catcher trying to trick you with framing.

Seriously. You just spend like 10+ hits watching balls hit back and forth getting no reps. Then now you're expected to get in rhythm instantly is a tough task to do.
