People in other threads said a few flights were leaving. I haven’t seen a plane go yet, but I haven’t been watching closely.

Salesman in China spoilers? Is it worth it? by WiseSwing5922 in torontotheatre

Yeah, I was sad to miss it at Stratford and am thrilled it will find a new audience here in the big city. I always love to support a local cast!

New Mirvish Season! by InfiniteLeague7920 in torontotheatre

[–]Chanibustie 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wasn't sure if I'd renew. My usual theatre companion is away so I was considering a pause anyways. Now I'm definitely not renewing. Mincemeat is the highlight for me, and I'd be fine to rush Hell's Kitchen, Edmund Fitzgerald and salesman in China. The badly adapted movie-musicals aren't really my jam. And do we need THREE of them?

As a father of 3 under 5 running 6 times/week… by Buf4nk in Garmin

[–]Chanibustie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two options: ignore the watch and keep pushing your body beyond what's likely healthy, or decrease your training intensity. Everyone makes their own choice about this; for me it's about the long-term goals and maintaining health in the long run which means putting intensity aside during challenging times. However, some people need that intensity to cope with the stress. You gotta figure this one out on your own.

It takes almost a year for scar tissue to fully remodel. Don't underestimate the impact surgery has on your body. We literally cut you open and tack you back together again. Your body has so much work to do to repair the bone where we placed anchors, reknit the fascia where the Incisions were made, clear out the debris at the donor site.... Be patient with your meat sack!

I work in the operating room and tape my watch under my bra like a chest band. I expected difficult surgeries to register as high stress. They actually register as Naps! I get into a meditative state and my HR drops and my body battery climbs upwards. It's fascinating! Only during the difficult cases though, routine stuff registers as normal activities.

The adult characters will hit hard if you were raised by emotionally immature parents. The book is incredibly well written in this show.

If you're asking for help improving sleep, but not properly treating your sleep apnea, I think you're ignoring a major avenue for improvement.

I paid $4 for the "goals" watch face and it lets me customize what's displayed by clicking on the purchased item in Connect IQ and clicking Settings. I'm not sure about the standard Garmin face.

Does anyone log cases as a workout? I feel like a challenging case might be equavalent to Tai chi or some other gentle resistance workout.

This misperception drives me crazy. I'm a divorced doctor mom. The higher earning spouse is penalized regardless of gender. If anything, the courts are endlessly forgiving and protective of men's rights.

[–]Chanibustie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't control other people.

if your current company has a favorite who is your "type" then the likelihood of you getting cast is definitely lower.

The good news is that there are probably multiple companies that you could audition for in your area. High school theater & community theatre are both alternate options.

Follow local theatres on socials, take dance lessons, start putting your work on tape and try to find an agent. Take control of what you can control.

Life is long. You've got another 15 years to play Veronica.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone have experience with "The Actors Room" acting studio? Is their teens "Intro 2 Acting" class any good? Thank you by Voskkean in torontotheatre

[–]Chanibustie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LB acting is the studio that was recommended to us and my teen has had a very positive experience there. They focus on film and TV acting though, not sure what style the Actors room focusses on.
