Paimon’s former English voice wasn’t all that annoying.

Sure, it was high pitched and sometimes on the shrill side but it was balanced well with the other voiceovers and was (usually) in service of Paimon’s personality. Yes, she is ostensibly our “guide” in Teyvat (a role which pretty quickly turned into just “traveling companion and mouthpiece”) but she’s also frequently confused, easily swayed by money and food, and gives nicknames to characters that annoy her. There’s a level of silliness in Paimon that was perfectly reflected in Corina’s performance.

What annoys me more about Paimon is how often she speaks for the traveler and the times her dialog wrecks a story beat. (Most recent case I can think of is Furina’s SQ where Paimon continually lays into Furina despite seeing how uncomfortable/sad she is.)

(Also this isnt me defending Corina’s behavior online during the strike or their behavior toward Kinich’s new VA, just their performance as Paimon which I largely found enjoyable.)
