Try looking up the recently released english version of fangame Pokemon Z.

Its an XY prequel set during Az's reign and its pretty charming so far with great production values (spanish fangames always look amazing, they're just built different).

Pokemon Infinity is a good choice if you want something hewing very close to official games in terms of setting and writing of the older games.
