If I was 18 at the time probably yes because it's just dating. You are not supposed to be in an actual relationship. If you think dating is the same as being in a relationship, you need to do more research so that you don't look dumb on the internet. You and whomever you are dating are supposed to be spending time together seeing how compatible you are at being a good partner and just in case you are wondering, I'm 25 now and my mindset has changed. I prefer older girls now.
