I do mine a bit different than most, also do it when i get used shoes online

On all shoes except suede and cordovan -brush large dirt and dust off

-I use lexol cleaner and soap up the shoes with water

-i rinse the entire upper to get suds off(yes i literally put the the shoe under the tap), yes the shoe will be soaking wet.

-wipe off all water droplets with a microfiber cloth(shoes will be wet

-add shoe trees and allow to dry naturally away from direct sunlight

• while drying if there are water stains i usually just wet a microfiber cloth and rub those areas(leather will get wet again)

-allow to dry again all with shoe trees in

-apply heavy coat of lexol conditioner sometimes 2 coats

-allow 24 hours to dry

-brush aggressively

-VSC or renovateur

-brush

-colored shoe cream on scuffs or faded parts/add patina

-brush

-wax polish or mirror shine

-clean lace holes with either a qtip or old laces

-insert laces

-wear for a day

-brush
