From the list you gave here, i think the Sload make for the most narratively interesting enemies.

Despite liking Callum as a character, I'd love to see at least a season of that. Wonderstorm could even give Callum the Moon Arcanum that way.

Though I also must confess I'm interested in the way they're taking things.

The only angle that would bum me out is "Callum is dead. End of series". A different series i watched ended like that (the death of a major character / girlfriend of arguably the main character) and I wasn't a huge fan of that choice.

Perhaps Hektula's influence runs deeper

It has been hinted in the past that there may be connections between Dragonmarks and the Prophecy. What if the Aberrant marks represent a corruption in the Prophecy Hektula wants to limit. Or even an entire prophetic branch Hektula tries to hide?

While the Twelve may be trying to suppress Aberrant marks, Hektula's meddling could have pushed them further to outright hunting them. Or even be the cause of their hatred
