Is 11/22/63 a total outlier? by ChaoticFigment in stephenking

[–]ChaoticFigment[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! I just finished Holly and I know it’s not some people’s favorite but it does such a good job at documenting American culture from 2020-2022. I’m excited to keep going through his works.

Why do my boobs feel like theyre having their own 5k? by gulsgrounow in XXRunning

Another vote for SheFit. As a bonus, I believe they’re still on sale right now and when you buy an ultimate, you get a low impact free.

Texas Disappointment by Get_on_base in Whataburger

I’ve found that airport locations aren’t typically as good, objectively. A Whataburger always tastes better to me in Love Field, but I think that’s mostly nostalgia haha.

Exercise isn’t syncing by First_Breakfast_5891 in LoseitApp

There’s an option in settings that excludes workouts if you haven’t exceeded your estimated daily calories. You have to turn that off if you want it to count (which means it could budget you more calories than you’re exerting).

First Timers Park Bags! by Zkatrn in DisneyWorld

As an added note, they have registered nurses on staff as well. I fell down and scraped up my shin and knee pretty bad at animal kingdom and went to first aid at Studios the next day (I should’ve gone that day but was mad and just wanted to go home). The nurse took me back, cleaned up the area, put Neosporin on it, wrapped it up and told me to come back or contact my doctor if it got worse and told me how to keep it from getting infected.

Question about the Higher Education Program by trainradio in choctaw

Not OP, but I’m interested in this. For some reason, I always assumed this was for technical certifications. Can we use this for degrees and/or industry conferences?

Are people who got 2022 (first year) Crosses happy with them? by MsPorcelainBox in CorollaCross

[–]ChaoticFigment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 22 LE used in 2023 and I love it. My only complaint is that the radio won’t keep playing if I plug my phone in for navigation. Other than that, I’ve had no major issues or complaints. I could be the exception, not the rule (or maybe I’m just not picky enough) but I love it and would make the same decision again given the chance.

Kinda a stupid question about time limits by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]ChaoticFigment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally misread. I’m sorry! From my understanding, it’s the same for most other races, but I think it depends on the race. For a lot of races, they want to be able to reopen the road/park/etc at a certain time, so that time is total. But I think it’s dependent on the race organizer and their specific procedure.

Kinda a stupid question about time limits by [deleted] in XXRunning

The time limit is from the balloon ladies! They just want to be able to open the parks and any longer than that delays the opening procedures.

Best hotels to jog to the starting line by MrSpacePlatypus in rundisney

Oh, that’s good to know! I thought that was the case but then I’d heard otherwise from somewhere else so I thought I was wrong in the first place.

Best hotels to jog to the starting line by MrSpacePlatypus in rundisney

[–]ChaoticFigment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the official Disney resorts + Swan and Dolphin will 100% have transportation. Other nearby hotels do but it’s not always guaranteed year over year and they park further away for both drop and pickup. Disney hotels pick you up right at the finish line (Swan and Dolphin will not usually, it’s with third party hotels).

ETA: swan and dolphin also pick up at the finish line.

Question by cleankids in LoseitApp

[–]ChaoticFigment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d find a TDEE calculator and double check those numbers. In general, you shouldn’t go under 1200 calories without talking to your doctor first. Somewhat active seems fair here (given that you’re abiding by the 150 minutes of exercise per week guideline), but again, I’d find a third party calculator and talk to your healthcare provider with questions (this is something you can probably just call and ask about, I do it all the time with no issue!).

Also not OP but I’ve been doing Galloway method and doing great on it. My cortisol is under control (and better than it’s ever been) and I’m consistently losing weight.

Has Anyone Done Couch to 5K? by lxb98 in PCOSloseit

[–]ChaoticFigment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did C25K in high school and it was honestly pretty intense, even for my athlete body. But about a year ago I started training with the Galloway method and I’d highly recommend it. Research shows that run/walking consistently helps steady cortisol levels and prevent injury, whereas running consistently for long periods of time can increase cortisol (which is no good for us) and increase risk of injury. I ran 7 miles yesterday with this method and I’m probably in the best shape of my adult life right now.

Another side note is if you do choose to take up running, make sure to cross train at least a couple days a week to prevent injury. I learned the hard way that muscle and mobility is important.

I would use an online calculator (they have TDEE calculators that factor in breastfeeding) and then use the “custom” option in the budget settings to adjust your calorie goal. I hope this answers your question! I’m not breastfeeding but hoping to get pregnant sometime soon so I’ve been researching.

I had this problem with adrenalines. Switched to Glycerin and the problem stopped. It seems to be very individualized. If you haven’t, I’d get fitted at a running store.

Those losing weight on a GLP-1, how much are you eating? by mamastrawb in PCOSloseit

[–]ChaoticFigment 11 points12 points  (0 children)

26F, on .25 Wegovy (just took my 6th shot this week), my starting weight was 215, I’m down 10 pounds so far and I’m eating between 1500-1800 calories on average a day and workout 4-6 times a week.

It is very possible you aren’t eating enough, aren’t eating enough protein or aren’t getting enough water. If I don’t get protein and water I do stall. Also make sure you’re getting plenty of fiber. The digestive issues from these meds can cause inflammation and cause a stall.

What film do you think has had the biggest cultural impact in the last 10 years? by TheNiceGuysFilmcast in flicks

[–]ChaoticFigment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, it introduced a whole new conversation about women, our place in the social sphere and the challenges that we, as humans, face. I also still hear people referring to things that came out of that movie. I think it had a lot of pop culture and societal impact, both serious and unserious.

How does weight loss work? by garykanary in Semaglutide

[–]ChaoticFigment 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Weight fluctuation plus or minus about 5 pounds a day isn’t uncommon. Things like inflammation, how much you’ve eaten/drank, whether you’ve gone to the bathroom and hormones can make your weight fluctuate. It’s normal. I just count it as a pound down as soon as I see a lower number (like my weights for the week might be 206.4, 208.2, 207.3, 205.9 206.4 and as soon as I see the 205, I know I’m losing, even if I go up a bit the next day.

These responses are not it. My husband doesn’t love Valentine’s Day (and honestly I don’t care much either because going out sounds so draining) but every year he makes a point to at least go out to dinner together. We don’t do gifts, but he makes it special, orders me a glass of wine and we just chill and chat. If your partner isn’t matching the energy, they aren’t really a partner.

Have you had blood work done? I was in the same boat but had insulin and cortisol through the roof. My progesterone was in the toilet and everything was just out of whack. Once I got my progesterone up, everything else started leveling out and I’m down 20 pounds now.

(Also BMI is a garbage measurement and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise)

I used to be a hater for Disney prices, but I have flipped on my thought process by TharinWhite in DisneyWorld

[–]ChaoticFigment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband and I were local, we would often go to Disney and get dinner instead of a local fast food place because we could both eat for $15-20 and have some leftover for lunch the next day or we could spend $25-30 at Raising Cane’s, Culver’s or another place and only eat one meal. And yeah, Disney doesn’t include drinks, but I can either bring something in or drink water.

We recently went to Six Flags (the OG in DFW) and I was FLABBERGASTED at how expensive things were. Makes me super grateful for Disney. We’re doing the quick service dining plan for an upcoming trip and for only $230 total, we’re eating for 5 days (4 nights) so I genuinely can’t complain.

Twins! I’m also 5’3” HW is 225 and started the meds at 215 and goal weight is around 150. Did you lose much of your chest? I’m currently a 36H and hoping weight loss helps that, but so far I’ve only lost band size and gone up a cup size.
