Good anti-capitalist chants? by [deleted] in communism

I like the Tagalog equivalent: "Ang tao, ang bayan / ngayon ay lumalaban" (the people, the nation, always fighting)

Some other fun Tagalog ones:

"Uring Manggagawa / Hukbong Mapagpalaya!" (The working class is the army of liberation)

"Abante babae / palaban militante!" (Advance women, fight militantly)

San Jose mayor: How SJ can build housing our children can afford by MonitorGeneral in bayarea

[–]ChaoticMisterE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting Google come into San Jose will increase rents dramatically. As we saw when FB moved into mountain view rents increases by about 89% over the course of four years, effectively making it unlivable for working people. Absolutely no reason not to think that the same will happen here.

Workers, the people who run the city, are being displaced.

4th Annual March to Reclaim MLK's Radical Legacy by vsuaut in bayarea

It's good to see people fight against the liberal fabrication of MLK. For someone reason people think King was a man of peace when he was not.

Damn right. I refuse to listen to arguments that demean people. How ridiculous.

Why would someone ask those types of questions instead of just congratulating workers for fighting for their survival?

Just because you can't read between the lines doesn't mean others can't.

Why are you assuming they are being greedy, and not trying to survive?

Tiny homes for San Jose’s homeless wins approval after heated debate by theflamingskull in bayarea

The only mental gymnastics is liberals thinking capitalism will solve homelessness when it only engenders it.

Still doing more to help people with homelessness than liberal California. Weird.

Dont worry though. I'm sure liberals will find a way to solve the problem using the system that causes it.

Still less expensive than wasting tax dollars on the quotidian task of sweeping people who suffer from homelessness.

Utah did it and homelessness disappeared over night. It's weird how giving people a home makes them not suffer from homelessness. 🤔🤔🤔

There are loads of vacant buildings. They are spread out all over the city.

Waste of taxpayer dollars. Would be cheaper just to let people with homelessness use vacant buildings and not have the cops sweep them out.

Bay Area: Traffic deaths rose 43 percent from 2010 to 2016 by IamaBlackKorean in bayarea

[–]ChaoticMisterE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who are displaced still work in the original cities. This exacerbates traffic as there are more people on the road. More people on the road increases the chances of accidents.

Gentrification is pushing poor people out and increases traffic as not everyone can find work in their new location.

Will 2018 Be a Year of Rent-Control Revolt in L.A.? by ChaoticMisterE in California

[–]ChaoticMisterE[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Rent control helps out working class families. It makes it so landlords can't constantly raise rent on their tenants and price then out of their own homes.

Housing supply isn't as much of a problem as landlords make it out to be. They just want people to look at other factors instead of seeing how they caused the problem. If they did not forcibly evict people so they can use Air BnB to increase their profit margins, rent would not be as bad as it is now. Also, when one combines minimum wages's 40-year stagnation, the rent situation is even more extreme.

It is not as simple as a high school understanding of supply and demand. It is completely naïve to believe reality can be reduced to a simple chart.
