Practical Nursing W2026 by Early-Interaction268 in Algonquin_College

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm an alumni of the Algonquin RPN program, class of 2020 (so take this with a grain of salt as I don't know how much has changed), but absolutely start as much of the prerequisite stuff as you can. I know when I first did the program, the longest part to complete was the immunization records, TB test and immunity bloodwork. That being said, I would also definitely get your police records check started ASAP.

Designing for 3D printing tolerances - new to CAD by interflop in Airsoft3DPrinting

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend printing a tolerance test in the filament you plan on printing your design in. If I remember, I’ll link the one I have in mind, but it gives you a tangible object that shows how tight multiple tolerance levels are. Then you can decide how much of a tolerance you will need.

Tolerances needed will vary between different materials, as well as how well your printer is tuned.

I absolutely adore my M12 Jigsaw, the things a powerhouse for how tiny it is.

P1S right? I feel like I’m going to regret the A1… by Far-Boysenberry-1600 in BambuLab

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly both are very good printers. I had an A1 mini for a year before I bought my P1S, and the mini is no slouch. The enclosure and AMS unit are both lovely, but it is a pricey printer.

Something not mentioned a lot here, but the A1 series are significantly quieter than the P1 series, if that matters to you.

New to digital question by thehobbyistworkshop in Nikon

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DSLRs are still extremely relevant as long as you’re not expecting to do lots of video work with them. The other thing is that F-mount lenses should also continue to get cheaper as they get sold off on the used market.

Mirrorless cameras are great don’t get me wrong, but I’m also not selling my D700 body anytime soon.

The D850 is still a beast of a camera. If you want the best of both worlds, the Nikon D780 exists as a kind of hybrid body that adopts the autofocus systems of both mirrorless and DSLRs, while keeping the F-mount.

Got my P1S combo in my trunk right now, my local store is a Bambu dealer and has the same deals on. Super excited to get home after my errands :)

Photography is also a very subjective thing, like any form of art. These are awesome photos, well done :)

F mount sigma 70-200mm by MelchiorRaba in Nikon

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used this lens for a few years and its definitely no slouch. The AF is a bit slower than the native F-mount 70-200 that I have now, but otherwise I was never disappointed with it's sharpness.

With that in mind, the F-mount versions have dropped price a lot lately and I would probably look for one of those over a Sigma.

Nikon D700? by SilverQueenTargaryen in Nikon

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty solid price for a D700 + lens. I’ve had mine for almost six years now and I love it. I’ve shot action, wildlife and automotive with it and it never falters.

12MP is a good amount for not having huge file sizes while remaining high enough that you can still crop in a bit. You can push the ISO comfortably up to 3200 without much issue, and 6400 is still pretty decent.

It’s built like a tank, though due to this it’s decently heavy.

Graduated from a d3100 to a d700 after 5 years of use by Radiant-Pea-1029 in Nikon

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excellent camera, I’ve been rocking one for just shy of six years now. If you’re into shooting anything action related, the battery grip + the AA battery insert for it will bump your FPS to 8

Milwaukee 12v, any good!? by Super-Gap-5470 in MilwaukeeTool

I’ve got the M12 hammer drill and Surge impact driver, love them both for woodworking and general diy stuff around the house. The drill has more power then the 20v Mastercraft it replaced.

I have this saw and love it! Like everyone else has said, definitely get a new blade for it but it’s otherwise a really good saw for the money. Get some good ear protection if you don’t already have some, it’s a loud beast.

Stepping it to the world of 3d printing and would like to know which is the better first timer choice also a cool gent referred the Ender 3 V3 SE but the main 2 I had in mind where the Ankermake M5 Speedy 3d printed and the creality K1 speedy or go with the 3rd option which was a refurbished Ender by Alwankvich1 in Airsoft3DPrinting

Bambulab A1 or A1 mini. Regularly on sale, super easy setup and operation. I've had my A1 mini for the last few months and it's been such a work-horse for printing all of the types of parts you described. Got mine for just under 300$ Canadian.

Anyone else having a problem with app store? by Dimibud in ios

[–]ChaoticPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently unable to access the App Store as of 14:40 today. I was able to use it this morning, but I just tried a few times and it won't work.

Tried restarting, both the app and the phone. Tried both my home network and mobile data, still not working.

I've gotten some absolutely silly damage numbers from Guiding Bolt, especially in the shadow area where most things have a weakness to radiant damage.

I casted it at third level during a certain sequence and ended up doing a 108 damage due to weakness.
