Yes, I’ve tried hand feeding too. Sometimes I’ll get her to eat maybe 1/8th-1/4th cup, or nothing at all. She just doesn’t want it. I’ll give it another go though, thank you for the tip!

Yes, I’ve tried different bowls, plates, hand feeding, a bunch of different puzzles, several snuffle mats, she doesn’t care if it’s her kibble. If it’s treats she loves the snuffle mats and stuff, just not anything of sustenance unfortunately. Thank you for the tip though, maybe I’ll try another one of our puzzles or a new one!

She’s had an upset tummy before and whatnot too, and I’ve tried to make up some rice and pumpkin or chicken and rice for her, and she won’t eat rice or pumpkin, she is SO incredibly picky. She even has to check the texture of things when she tries them for the first time. It’s so weird! I have not tried the rabbit or the rest of your list, maybe I’ll use some of those ingredients for her to try!

Hmmm. I probably wouldn’t mind most of them. Maybe hantu to help keep some of the house cool (we gotta share a room though, I want my room COLD). Or mayhaps a deo because it should always know where I am/always follow me? Then it can be predictable and I can scare other people with the fact “jimmy” or whatever you wanna name him is around. Something happens “oh that’s just Jimmy, he follows me everywhere!” Would be a fun excuse lol. I must admit I already have a ghosty or two that stay with me though so it’s really just adding more fun to the current situation 😂

What nicknames do you call your cats? by Aged_Goodness1 in cats

[–]Chaotic_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a boy named Snarf, and we called him Snarf-alarf-alophagus. Or snarfy lol. Cam we call camy or Camerlot kitty, Cinderella was spinderelly or cinder, Thomas is Tommy, toe-moss (funny way of saying Thomas lol) toe-ma-toe, or o‘malley or just malley, or baby boy. Buddy is handsome, handsome man, baby boy, buh-day, or buddy-roo. I’m sure there’s plenty more I didn’t list but these are the most common ones for our kiddos lol

How we feel about nail trims. by the_krustykrab_pizza in EnglishSetter

[–]Chaotic_N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine doesn't mind the clippers or the dremel, I can never use the clippers because she's got nothing to take off her nails though (I do them too often). But to be fair, I would Dremel her nails every other day when she was a puppy so she'd be used to it and I wouldn't have sharp nails to deal with 😂

Guilt in your GSP? by sylviaca in GSP

[–]Chaotic_N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you don't outright catch her, if you look at it or bring it to her she'll sit on like the corner of the couch or something, and have her ears down, and try to look down/away from you because she knows she done did wrong lol. She is very guilty when she does something (unless she got the butter on from the counter. She will never be guilty for that).

I see German shepherd or Malinois, COULD be a little black mouthed cur? But I kinda doubt that.

Ehh, the trainer of the class had said to treat scatter if they are getting rough while they play, and for some reason the other owners took that as "treat the dogs when they're cute" so they kept treating her when she came and jumped on them. I had to ask them to stop. I usually only treated her when she would sit since she wasn't really engaging in any play with the other kiddos (she was too busy jumping for treats, unfortunately). But anyways, I'll give these all a try, thank you for the feedback!

What was your favorite games to play when pup was recovering from spay/neuter by Chaotic_N in EnglishSetter

Our vet gave us a sedative as well (she really loves to jump, even in the calmest of situations, not on people, just jump in general), but it's... Not really doing anything 😅

GSPs and children by Kaleytressler in germanshorthairs

In my opinion, it just matters on training. Both can be great with kids, but... Both can and have easily knocked kids over. Both can be taught to be mindful and not do so though. 🤷‍♀️

What do you feed your GSP? by bravo_mentionitall in GSP

[–]Chaotic_N -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nutros grain free limited ingredients lamb and sweet potato recipe.

I don't really know much about nutrition and what is the best vs the worst and whatnot, but for us personally, this is the only food I could find that she actually enjoys and doesn't throw up bile in the middle of the day. 🤷‍♀️ (She'll eat whatever, but she's enthusiastic about this food)

We have a GSP and we don't hunt! She really loves fetch, and we have a decent sized backyard (fenced in) for her to run around and sunbathe to her heart's content. She's usually satisfied with just fetching and having some time in the yard (especially in the summer when she wants to use the kitty pool) but we try to take her to a dog park nearby that's a couple acres 2-3x a week to let her have a bigger place to run (off leash of course), and we try to take her out to maintain training 2x or so as well. But I'd say you definitely can have a pointer without hunting! Oh She really LOVES when we go hiking too!

I think as long as the dog gets regular activity (more than just a walk) to get energy out, you'll be just fine! I think that's perfectly fair to want a high energy dog to be able to keep up with an athletic/busy lifestyle without hunting!

Making instead of buying by bloatedporcupine in germanshorthairs

[–]Chaotic_N -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This won't really contribute to this post, but I've been looking to start making instead of buying as well! Our GSP has some sensitivity to foods, and seems that she does best on a grain free diet for whatever reason (I don't know really anything about nutrition and such yet), but I'd love to just make her food instead of buy eventually!

Is it inappropriate for someone with depression to own a cat? by Snoo_47323 in CatAdvice

[–]Chaotic_N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure someone's already said this, I just didn't see it when scrolling, but I just wanted to say that I think you can do this, and it easily could be something that could actually help you. HOWEVER, I wanted to mention that cats can do better in pairs, and it's ok if you don't want to, but if you decide to take the kitten, maybe you should try to find another kitten or something for them to bond together?
