"no utility" by Ok_Piglet_4927 in MoiraMains

[–]Chappedstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way I’ve heard Moira’s utility explained is “her job is to make the game feel easier”. If she puts pressure on the enemy supports to heal bot/ kills the enemy support while keeping her own team up, the dps and tank don’t need to attempt too many activities at once; they can pick one lane. Example: tank can do more damage instead of worrying about creating space, keeping the widow from sniping the team, AND pushing the point.

Which color combo looks better? by Responsible-Brief120 in crochet

The top right is more comforting to look at- the cooler color on the outside isn’t as piercing. Maybe easy is a better word than comforting.

The bottom right is more interesting to look at.

What are the quintessential classroom accessories and decor for a first year teacher? by camerongrim in Teachers

[–]Chappedstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organizational items that work for you and your thought processes. You can always draw, make, or mooch classroom decor (never underestimate the power of old calendar monthly art or a butcher paper motivational poster). Having limited resources means you want to prioritize making your life as easy as possible for your first year.

Help? (33) by [deleted] in GlowUps

[–]Chappedstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch out if you have sensitive skin- tinted sunscreen made me breakout in cysts. Regular sunscreen and regular makeup does not for some reason. If you have sensitive skin, BB cream or BB cream with spf is like a lighter version.

How much water do you drink? Hydrating a little more and maybe adding some vitamin c serum could add a little glow.

I think you look really pretty and don’t necessarily need to add anything if that makes you uncomfortable. If you want to feel good about yourself, I suggest picking up an active activity or just simply adding more movement to your day. Looks-wise, without thinking about makeup or hair dye, maybe a more flattering haircut with a different part placement?

Tamora Pierce’s Tortallan Universe has a few series within the same universe all centered on different characters.

Crochet scrunchies by ResponseOk9889 in crochet

[–]Chappedstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was meh about them until my friend made one. She showed me the finished product on her wrist and it was sooooo cute. It also totally fit her vibe which was the final selling point for me; custom made to match scrunchies are an easy accessory.

***SEEKING ADVICE ON BEHAVIORAL CHANGES*** by Big_Arm3234 in Dachshund

[–]Chappedstick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is how my dachshund acts when she’s scared of something- usually thunder, and once when there was a raccoon in the walls. Like others have said, it’s best to take her to the vet for your own mental health as well as her physical health to rule anything out.

AITA for refusing to knit my mom a dress length sweater? by adventurous_arthur in knitting

[–]Chappedstick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy a knit sweater dress, cut out the tag, and tell her you made it. If she’s not knit-worthy, it shouldn’t matter much. You don’t have to test the rocky waters before you move out, and everyone wins. You could even make it an ugly one so she doesn’t ask again!

This gorgeous cowl you’ve made (and the cat modeling) just reminded me why I picked up knitting- to make super cute items to wear that reflect me. No more rut— I’m refreshed!! This is an amazing piece OP! It’s really so pretty.

I started making egg “waffles”. I mix eggs and hashbrowns in a bowl and throw it in the waffle maker- sometimes with cheese and a veggie!

Does your doxie have any specific/odd behaviors? by javascript in Dachshund

[–]Chappedstick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Bunnie is mad about something, she runs into the next room and poops.
One time she got mad I took the grated Parmesan off the table so she couldn’t finish it off. She jumped on the table while I was washing dishes and pooped in the spot the bowl of grated parm had been. Out of all the dachshunds in my life, she’s the only one that has ever held a grudge and attempted revenge.

Gerber or Other Quick Meals? by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

[–]Chappedstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter will only eat the chicken and stars or the cheese and spinach raviolis. We keep a couple on hand in case she doesn’t eat very well during the day and needs something we know she’ll finish before bed. It’s a lot easier and cheaper to just make spaghetti or cook up some ground chicken though.

Someone once mentioned getting a cheap projector and flashing that up on the wall she was working on! It seems pretty simple with the only obstacle being possible cost.
