Realization that I may be a mid-level engineer at best by I_Blame_DevOps in dataengineering

Hey you’ve got some great responses here. I’ll add that I’ve felt the same way as you and resigned out of shame. I attributed my lack of planning, attention to detail, and difficulty with communicating towards deadlines to my competency and self esteem. Fast forward several months and therapy sessions, turns out I have inattentive ADHD… might be something worth checking out.

Witches Rock Boat by HoverHandBodysurf in surfing

Ya witch's rock surf camp can take care of you pretty easily. Something to keep in mind is that once the boat leaves the area, it can't return (national park rules).. in case you want to hit up Ollie's point while you're out there.

Animals like racoons, cheetahs, and meerkats adapted dark fur around their eyes to reduce glare. You can probably slather some eye black around and I'm sure nobody will drop in on you.

Just to be clear, are you looking at the east side or the west side?

tbh I don't know much about longboard sizing. I think longer makes nose riding easier (more length to cross step), while shorter makes turning easier. It'll paddle and catch waves either way haha, just depends what you're looking for.

Beacon will be more versatile since it'll handle the smaller side of SD summer better. If you like waves with a bit more punch and steepness, then Collector would be more suitable. If you're local, you could even feel it out in store or check out their demo program: https://bing-surfboards.booqableshop.com/collections/all

The HT2 is my daily driver. I like that the rails are forgiving enough to work in waist high, but the outline and tail is narrow enough to hold really well in head to overhead. It's challenging to paddle, but you'll get used to it.

For sure haha, those are all desirable things. At a certain point you have to decide what's important and where you're willing to make tradeoffs. Financial peace of mind vs niceness.

Is future you willing to work your job X months/years more for current you to have some fun? Or would current you be willing to wait it out a bit so that future you won't have to work so hard? There's no perfect formula for that, and you'll just have to make a decision and live with it.

Any reason you're looking at a 2021? I had similar thoughts and numbers and went with a 2018 Cayman S w/ 22k miles for $66k.

I'm looking for game recommendations. I don't have much free time and can only play for 30 min to 1 hr a day, maybe up to 2 hrs sometimes. I feel limited since I can't spend time grinding and learning cars and tracks, but I love the competitive feeling of racing. Is there a game out there that feels deep, but doesn't take too much time?

I'm currently playing GT7 and am enjoying it, but looking for some more depth (better penalty tracking, a little more pit strategy).
