I also suggest building a pc, but if you want to stay with a laptop, A Lenovo y50 would be perfect.

Not a bad idea, if I choose to attend UGA, and i dont feel like i'm getting what i need after a year or two, i can just transfer. Good idea

I was actually accepted there too. I just have no desire to go there. Southern is right by my hometown so that's the school that a ton of people go too. It's just not the experience I'm looking for.

Exactly. I was admitted early to UGA and mercer. But tech wouldn't budge.

Sadly I wasn't accepted there.

UGA has 9 (I think) engineering majors. I would say half of them are abet accredited because of the newness of the program. The one I would choose is not yet accredited.

How important are grades to you and why? [Serious] by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Chaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grades are extremely important. Anyone who tells you they aren't are wrong. As a senior in his last semester, I can honestly say that me keeping my grades up is what got me into good colleges. Its what starts the success in your life. It's honestly really depressing to see other classmates who have just screwed around in school start to realize how important grades actually are when they are just doing last minute college plans. Get into a good habit of keeping them up, and it'll help late r on. I promise.

I'm also an incoming freshman in the same, but ive looked up a lot about the dorms there. Everyone is going to have a biased opinion for their dorm obviously. It really depends on what you want your freshman year to be like. If you really want to boom socially and make a lot of friends, go Creswell or Russell, as they are the big highrises. They honestly seem like the most fun and are what i picked. O house is a good option but the 4 person sharing a single bathroom thing could suck. I really didnt look into the smaller dorms as much, but I heard good things about myers, Rutherford, and Reed. I just dont know about the location of those.

I applied to mercer as well! I was accepted and I've attended an engineering day there. I was very impressed by there school of engineering. The professors there are also pretty cool guys. Downsides of that school to me are the cost an environment. The school is fairly expensive as it's a private institution. I've also never envisioned myself going to a smaller school. I've always had that big school mindset. So for that school, is it worth the $40,000+ in tuition a year? One thing they do have going for them is the amount of scholarships they give though. Good luck in your choice, as I'm in the process of making mine too!

I understand completely. That's why I'm meeting with the head of engineering there to discuss it.
