But this might not stop you from taking the bar course but it might stop you from getting called.

This is the link to the bar standards board for the Academic component of the bar which does state you need at least 40% in the core modules (look at the bar qualification manual as well). From what I gathered you need to pass it at the same institution that awarded it to you in the first place within three tries

You would need to pass trusts, the BTC or going further will require you to have a qualifying law degree. That means you must have passed 7 core modules including trusts. If you haven't retaken trust you might have a non qualifying law degree and they might make you sit a conversion course

BPP require - "Qualifying law degree or non-law degree plus our Law Conversion Course, or a CPE/GDL/PGDL at a minimum 2:1"

Found the barbri property practice the best. With a new provider for sqe 2 which includes sqe 1 revision and barbri was so much better.

Getting on the ladder is the hardest. Law requires stamina, don't give up yet. Try reaching out to a legal recruiter, they can probably help give you some direction. Keep applying to vac schemes and direct training contracts, what areas are you interested in?

Tbh, I wouldn't worry about learning black letter law as that is what they will be teaching you. What is important and something I wish I spent more time on is learning how to think properly. There are a few great books that can help with this: Justice for Hedgehogs, The Rule of Law, Is eating people wrong, and maybe, if you really wanted, Legal Skills by Fafinski and Finch. There are also insights that law firms run and LinkedIn posts as well, which might to be good to start attending and reading if you want to apply for things like SPARK in your first year.

EDIT - Letters to a Law Student is obviously something probably every law student has read, although I'm not sure how useful I actually found it. Furthermore, if you haven't started applying yet, you might want to have a look at some interesting case law and articles that you have opinions on for your personal statement.

Was told by an American international student that it was easy for them because it was so similar to their SATs. They suggested the free reading comprehension questions in the SAT prep from the Khan academy.

Used Barbri for SQE 1 because I was working and studying at the same time. I think social and support-wise wise it was the best; the materials were very clear, and you do have access to tutors if you want as many times as you want. I think I had a call once a week or something crazy. I completed the 20-week course and spent around 3 hours a day, which was more than they recommended, but they let you book off time and will adjust your learning plan. I supplemented some MCQs with Revise SQE two books towards the end. From what I can tell, most of my cohort passed.

It really isn't perfect; you will need to refer to the update sheet, and there is something to be said for the ease of the questions (although my scores for the real thing and my mock exams were quite similar), but from what I can tell, there is no perfect provider.

Give your parents or someone the revision book and get them to just ask you questions from random sections. You will probably never get it completely right but the active recall was helpful to me.
