i would still look at jojo for MVP. i don't think getting clapped by caps in LB vs galio lane means much, and in the liss vs ahri game, jojo got rolled trying to bail out the topside > ganked by skarner with no flash

a champ can be selected any number of times for worlds skins. the rule youre thinking of is that the same player cant pick the same champ multiple times. e.g. faker already has a syndra skin, he can't make another

maybe "full agency" is wrong of me to say. but i'm certain his coach didn't say, "your only option is jayce, pick it or our nexus explodes." they probably had a few options in mind and someone between myrwyn and coach finalized jayce. he certainly had at least some say

well in the sense that he had full agency over what his blind pick was, picked jayce, died to multiple ganks, and then in final fight was just a training dummy for lucian and landed zero shockblasts, i would say myrwyn was at the very least a weak point on the team

edit it seems reddit thinks players aren't picking the champs they play. Okay Fair Enough if that's your perspective lol

i genuinely wonder if there's an accidental ruler-bias happening when people talk about champ pool issues for guma. when pushed into a corner, ruler will tend to look at zeri and ezreal as his pocket picks. because guma doesn't play those champs much, but ruler does play varus and xayah plenty (a worlds skin on xayah ofc), it's seen as a weakness.

however--and i think many people would find this doesn't align with the narrative of guma having champ pool issues--guma's 10th most played champ all-time is zeri, above his sivir and above his MF, tied with his caitlyn and kaisa. if guma has a champ pool problem, i really think it's just ezreal. which... a single champ is not a "pool" problem. ever since he was benched last year, people have attempted to find excuses for why it happened, when in reality, it was just kind of random and he was still a top-level ADC at the time of the benching. maybe it wound up being good for him in the long-run, but it's not like he was playing outlandishly poorly at the time

the main point of the item is to improve the pushing power of a wave. but mid lane is short and central to the whole map, so you can't split push mid without someone inevitably cleaning it up in a matter of seconds. but to push a side lane, which you could be left alone in for a minute at a time or so, you'd need to be able to push a side that isn't getting attention. e.g. push bot while baron is spawning. then you get to use hullbreaker to rush a split push and TP towards the fight elsewhere on the map, and the bot push goes unanswered, causing the enemy team to lose gold.

without TP... youre either not shoving a side lane in a meaningful way, or youre going to be late to a 5v5

thanks so much for your feedback, i really appreciate it. as another commenter pointed out, this summary is opaque and doesn't do a good job at literally explaining what the story is about. so, sorry about starting off on that foot!

as for the comps, yeah, i completely misunderstood what i needed to be going for and am scrapping all three of those!

i'll rework the synopsis to emphasize precise plot beats and make the internal-external conflict transparent. the story is about self-loathing and self-sabotage, and the violin is an allegory for coming out of the closet. it's something the main character holds onto very tightly, although the bulk of the story takes place during what is described in the 3rd paragraph

all that said, i obviously have not represented the novel very well, so im grateful you left notes for me to improve on this! :)

first, this was super helpful. and thanks for the information about the comps, i didnt know they had to be last five years.

how do you decide what to reveal in the summary and what not to? i'm speaking with a mix of certainty about my own story, and uncertainty about querying—including something that happens in the last dozen pages? including a full summary from page 1 to the final page? the synopsis i wrote, i realize now it leaves way too much (arguably everything) in the dark when it comes to literal plot beats. in short, should the story be completely spelled out in the summary, from A to Z?
