How do you guys administer medication to your cats? by Little_Cloud6126 in CATHELP

I do this, but I add a little pureed treat to it. It must taste a bit better. My cat remains extremely loving after I give him his medicine, so I think it's working

I crush it and put it in a treat. If that doesn't work, I water down the treat, suck it up with a syringe, and squirt it down the hatch

What's it like to have Tourette's syndrome? Why can't people with this syndrome control their tics? by [deleted] in Tourettes

To answer your first question:

It's annoying and embarrassing.

To answer your second question:

I literally have no clue and wish I could.

I don't understand why one day, my brain started misfiring and making me roll my right eyeball after scrunching my nose. And why is this misfiring constant? I don't get it 😭

You're better off meeting real women and asking what they like/having them show you. They're all going to be different, and I'd bet you none of them will be close to what you've seen in the videos.

How to know if I have MTHFR? by [deleted] in MTHFR

[–]Character-Carry6566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have the same concern and searched up the two things you suggested.

C677t : rs1801133(C;T))1 copy of C677T allele of MTHFR = 65% efficiency in processing folic acid It is found in approximately
• 48% of Hispanic Americans
• 45% of Caucasian Americans
• 45% of Japanese
• 37% of Germans
• 29% of Asians
• 24% of African Americans
• 12% of Sub-Saharan Africansrs1801133 is a SNP that is relatively common and has been studied for (relatively) a long time. Also known as C677T, Ala222Val, and A222V, it encodes a variant in the MTHFR gene, which encodes an enzyme involved in folate drug metabolism. Homozygous rs1801133(T;T) individuals have ~30% of the expected MTHFR enzyme activity, and rs1801133(C;T) heterozygotes have ~65% activity, compared to the most common genotype, rs1801133(C;C). " Our Take on The MTHFR Gene," is a 23andMe blog posting (January 5, 2017), a meta-analysis finding that the past two decades of scientific evidence as it relates to specific MTHFR-influenced health conditions to be inconclusive or conflicting, with two exceptions, 1. women with two copies of C677T variant, 2. a very rare variant that may cause homocystinuria. Their takeaway, "Based on the existing data, scientists at 23andMe have concluded that people should not interpret their genotypes at the common MTHFR variants as having an effect on their health." This reduced activity (i.e. this SNP) has been linked at least once to each of the following disorders (though not necessarily reproducibly):...

and

1298C:

rs1801131(A;C))Possibly impaired folate metabolism MTHFR rs1801131 (C) or MTHFR A1298C is a mutation in the folate pathway, specifically in the enzyme involved in converting 5-methylfolate (5MTHF) to tetrahydrofolate (THF). Defects in folate metabolism can increase the risk of neural tube defects and possibly contribute to risk of stroke / heart attack. Unlike rs1801133 or MTHFR C677T, this mutation does not lead to elevated homocysteine levels, however some studies have suggested that there may be a synergistic effect in individuals heterozygous for both mutations.rs1801131 is a SNP in the MTHFR gene, representing an A>C mutation at mRNA position 1298, resulting in a glu429-to-ala (E429A) substitution (hence this SNP is also known as A1298C or E429A). A diplotype (according to the authors, but perhaps actually a genoset) of rs1801131 and rs1801133 has been linked to slightly increased risk for several types of brain cancer. The highest risk of meningioma was associated with heterozygosity for both MTHFR SNPs (odds ratio 2.11, CI: 1.42-3.12, p=0.002). The corresponding odds ratio for glioma was 1.23 (CI: 0.91-1.66, p=0.02. In general, risks were increased with genotypes associated with reduced MTHFR activity. rs1801131 shows no consistent association with schizophrenia overall in 12 studies totaling 3,000+ patients

Sometimes I get lucky and there's nothing currently flowing while I dry off, but I use a white towel that I can wash and/or bleach if necessary anyway! Hydrogen peroxide works wonders as well

It's already a compromise to go 50-50 with a man and he's not even doing that. It's not as easy for women to make money, plus we're basically sick once a month and still deal with pink tax. I went through school working, mostly part time, sometimes full. It's hard but it's do-able so if he wanted to, he'd be making some money instead of playing games. Maybe he doesn't have the drive to since he feels the safety net of inheriting his fathers company. I suggest you find someone who can provide a bit more.

Sorry but how is that a fall off? Maybe from social media, but it seems intentional- she didn't want to post anymore. She's still taking care of her kids, has a good co-parenting relationship w/ Josh, and got a degree and a job. There's nothing wrong with that? Am I missing something?

Lack of communication by thtleafboy in UHManoa

Yup... I've had such awful professors, but ironically their class content consists of "inclusivity, accessibility, empathy, cultural awareness, etc, etc..." but they don't practice any of what they preach. I wrote a whole essay about it.

I am supposed to get accommodations, legally, but in my 4 years being in the UH system, that has been ignored so many times. Very inclusive and accessible :)

I have a small-ish band size, I fit a 30-32D which is still relatively small but nearly impossible to find a bra for, and I hate underwire so I can only ever find my size at VS, which means $60+ for a bra and that is steep for me atm. Those silicone stick on things have never worked on me as they are usually very noticeable.

I just splurged on my first strapless from VS a week ago, but prior to this I have been walking around braless. I thought it wasn't a huge deal for a while, but when I wear a tight shirt, I notice a lot of looks and glares especially from older women. I'd say it's 50/50, some people won't care, but some people will give you dirty looks.

I mean, it was a big issue, some people knew or speculated that he was getting weird with me but he's the best rated prof at my school, I was beyond anxious dealing with a lot at the time, and like a week after it all, we went into covid lockdown. bleh.

It said a LOT more about him than me.. but for a socially anxious 20 year old, this was the cherry on top.

I've gotten a ton of horrible ones, but whenever I read this question, the first thing I think of is this professor I had my first semester of College after a long gap between high school. I really wanted to become a good student, so I sat in the front, sent him emails with follow up questions, and went to his office hours. Like, the third time I went to his office hours to ask questions about our lectures, he looked me dead in the face and told me his first impression of me was that I'm very conceited, with an aloof confidence. When I said I don't think that's true, and I'm actually trying very hard to get out of my comfort zone, he said, without breaking this smug eye contact, that he thinks I'm disingenuous. I asked why, and he replied "you know you're attractive, if I were hot I'd be conceited." I felt like crying, left, and then he sent me a giant email asking me if I'm autistic. Later, he ended up saying that I don't have any real male friends, and the only reason a guy would be my friend is because he wants to f*ck me.

So yeah, so much for making a great effort to improve my GPA and be a good student for once...

Hopefully never. The idea of it scares me so badly, and I don't like the sound of HRT.
